HOW TO CONFIGURE DG-BG4300NU/IS IN 3G FAILOVER MODE WITH DSL LINE

STEP 1: CONNECT DONGLE TO ROUTER

Make sure the internet is working from Dongle first

After connecting it to router, check with the USB led on the router

STEP 2: ACCESSING THE WEB CONFIGURATION PAGE INSIDE THE ROUTER

Open the configuration page of the router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in a web browser. We recommend this one time
configuration to be done using Internet Explorer.

Enter the username as admin and password as admin and click on OK.
STEP 3: CONFIGURE WAN 3G SETTINGS

Click on Setup >> WAN. Then click on 3G/4G on the left hand side.

3G/4G WAN : Enable

Network Type : Auto
APN : According to the ISP ( Ex : For Jio Sim: jionet )
Dial Number : *99#
3G to WAN Switch Over Time(s) : 10
Check the WAN 3G Connections Table
Click on Apply Changes.

STEP 4: CHECK THE DONGLE STATUS

Status >> 3G/4G Info

Signal Strength
Connection Status : Connected
Sim Card Status : Sim Ready

Now verify the internet access through DG-BG4300NU/IS router.

STEP 5: CONFIGURE THE ROUTER IN PPPOE MODE

Click on Setup > WAN

First delete the entry in WAN Interface Table which is at bottom of the page
WAN Physical Type > Select ADSL WAN
Enter VPI and VCI values as provided by the ISP ( For Ex : For BSNL, VPI – 0 and VCI – 35)
Channel Mode : PPPoE
Enter Username and Password provided by the ISP

VPI, VCI depends on ISP

Username/password as provided by ISP

Scroll to the end of the page, till you see the WAN Interfaces Table.
Refresh and reboot the router.
STEP 6: CHECK THE DSL STATUS

Status >> Device Info >> ADSL WAN Interface Table.

In this case ADSL WAN will be primary WAN by default. In case the DSL link goes down, the router will auto-switch to 3G/4G mode.
Dongle status will get disconnected once the ADSL link is On.
