Required pre-knowledge
1. Takadimi system on stick notations
2. Awareness of pitch of the notes (do-la) and how to use solmization while singing. 3. Writing down music
Rules of the Game
1. Starting from the ‘Rhythm Language’ Flashcards, which consist of stick notations. The student will pick 2-3 flashcards from the set with eyes closed. 2. The student should speak out the rhythm of the chosen cards with the takadimi system. 3. After succeeding, they will choose another set of card from the pitch set (2- 3). They should be able to sing the pitch with solmization. 4. After choosing the rhythm and pitch cards, they will combine both of it and write it down to make their own mini composition from the chosen materials. 5. Final part, they will try to perform what they composed. (first by singing it, then by playing on their own instrument)
Pedagogical Goal
The goal is to train students ability to write music in a fun
and interactive way. Help students to understand and perform rhythm better. Help students to perform solfège, getting more acquainted to pitch and solmization.
