our blossoming leaders to display their skills to express with a purpose!

We are elated to share that Burlington English has joined hands with the epitome of
debating in India - Indian Debating League (IDL), to present your child with a phenomenal
platform to express their thoughts and emerge triumphant amongst powerful debaters from
across schools, nation-wide!

We extend a hearty invite to our confident and formidable orators to come forth to reason,
argue, and emote upon the theme, The Hydra Snare’: Humanising Education.

The Hydra of Learning is indicative of multifarious sources of information that are saturating
human sensibilities. So come, rethink Education and take on ‘The Hydra Snare’: Humanising
Education together!

The contest embodies the new-age skills of 21 st century and aligns with your vision to
augment your ward with higher order thinking capacities, logical reasoning and verbal
abilities of the utmost calibre, perspective building and talking while differentiating facts
from opinions - whilst being motivated and rewarded to enhance their talent.

While IDL has sent debating teams across Harvard, Oxford, Prague, and more, in the past; IIT
Bombay is known for their prestigious entrepreneurs, and IIT Bombay Debaters were the
best at World University Debating Championships recently.

Please note the essentials of the contest as stated below:

a. Eligibility

 Juniors - Grades 4th to 6th


 Middle - Grades 7th to 9th
 Seniors - Grades 10th to 12th 

b. Formats

Two Speech and One Debate 

 Speech – Turncoat (Speak from both the sides, for and against)
 Speech - Dramatic Adaptation (Speak on a given topic as a famous personality)
 Debate - World School Debating Championship (WSDC)

c. Key Dates

 Three Debating Master Classes prior to Qualifiers


 MDL Debate Competition Qualifiers - 17th June 2023 
 Final rounds at IIT Bombay - 01st July 2023

entire country and beyond.
The participant will be enriched with:

of Debaters who will represent India at International tournaments - WSDC, Oxford,
