Food for Thought

Got a wine cellar in your home? A corkscrew display in your
wine cellar would be the talk of the town. Or put it in a separate
room for your own museum.

Restaurant owner? Add this collection to your wine cellar or line

the walls with it. It will attract more customers.

Casino owner? This collection will bring more players to your

casino.

The possibilities are unlimited. Let your imagine run wild!

Can you build your own collection?

Bear in mind that it took Mike 40 years to

assemble this collection. To put together such a
collection today would cost significantly more
than the sale price of $250,000. Not only is there
the expense of the corkscrews themselves, but
consider the travel expenses and your time.
A REAL TREAT FOR THE WINE ENTHUSIASTS

In January, 2017, Michael Papay invited me to Las Vegas to view and photograph his outstanding collection of corkscrews and wine
antiques. The collection is presented in the following pages. Most of the corkscrews are pictured with the pages from The Ultimate
Corkscrew Book that they represent.

This collection will be an excellent addition to a private or public wine cellar. It would also be an exciting museum whether it is in a
private home or a public place.

Mike and I discussed the corkscrew and wine museums in Spain, Italy, Romania, France, and Greece. We also talked about our
disappointing visits to the display of the collection of the late Brother Timothy at the Culinary Institute in Napa Valley, California.
This is the only such display of its kind in the U.S.A. Unfortunately, the remnants of this collection of less than a thousand pieces are
all that is available for travelers. Michael's Collection has over 2,200 fun, rare, intriguing and wows that are sure to entertain. No
one there has had the foresight to capture this kind of attraction.

Given the 40,000,000+ annual visitors who come to Las Vegas and the interest in wine, a World-Class corkscrew display or a full-
fledged wine museum would add an increase in traffic and additional profits to any establishment. After you view the photos in this
document, I am certain you will have some ideas of your own.

Michael first was in awe of Brother Tim's passion, then The Ultimate Corkscrew Book came along that took his collecting to a whole
mew dimension. The Ultimate Corkscrew Book presents the broad spectrum of ingenuity of four centuries of invention dedicated to
remove a cork. Guaranteed to captivate!

Michael's Collection doubles Tim's, displaying over 2,300 corkscrew collected from all over the world with centuries of
craftsmanship bringing WOWs and praises. To a wine enthusiast this will be the highlight that will be discussed time and again
when either the trip or wine comes up at home and will be the talk of the town!

Donald A. Bull
Brother Timothy's whole corkscrew collection was
once on display at the Culinary Institute Napa
Valley, California. It was the only such display of its
kind in the U.S.A. After Brother Tim passed away, a
large portion of the collection was portioned off to
other collectors. Unfortunately, the remnants of the
collection of less than a thousand pieces are all that
is available for travelers.

Michael Papay’s superior, larger collection would be

a huge draw for visitors to Las Vegas!

The Ultimate Corkscrew Book by Donald
Bull was published in 1999. The book
features over 3600 corkscrews presented
by types in 100+ chapters. The book
quickly became the “Bible” for corkscrew
collectors. Michael Papay had already
been collecting corkscrews for 10 years.
Michael’s goal was to grow his already
extensive collection to include
representative corkscrews from every
page in the book.

In the following pages you will see that

Michael has now achieved 98% of his
corkscrew collecting goal.

His corkscrew addiction also led to a

sizeable collection of wine antiques
included in the collection documents.

Information about the worm can be found on the next page.

In the mid-19th Century when the Cavalry maneuvered or camped used
these “corkscrews” for a corral for their horses. The screw posts could be
set firmly in any soil and removed quickly when necessary. Ropes were
strung through the upper loops of the posts to fashion a corral. It was a
simple matter to unscrew the posts, load them in a wagon, coil the ropes
and move out. Several sites in Kansas were discovered with these post
many years ago.
