These beginning sounds centers are a perfect
A- apple, alligator, acorn
addition to any classroom. Your students are
going to love learning their letter sounds with
these interactive hands on activities. B- bear, bee, boat
C- cow, cup, carrot

Directions
Print pages 4-48 on card stock and laminate for
D- dog, door, duck
E- egg, elephant, eight
F- fish, football, flower
durability. G- glue, guitar, glasses
There are two different activities included in this H- hippo, helicopter, hammer
download. The first center I created is very simple. I- ice cream, igloo, iguana
Each beginning sound mat has a picture . Students J- jellyfish, jacket, jam
will then say the pictures name and find the K- kangaroo, karate, kite
correct upper /lowercase letters to match with
the picture. I have made the vowels sounds red so
L- lamp, ladybug, ladder
students will know that these letters are special M- mouse, magnet, mermaid
because they make two different sounds. The N- nest, needle, net
second center I created is slightly more difficult. O- octopus, orange, ostrich
Students will have a beginning sound mat with an P- pie, penguin, pig
Uppercase and lowercase letter displayed. They Q- quarter, queen, quilt
would then match up the correct picture card to
complete the mat. I have provided three different
R- ring, robot, rain
cards for each letter.(x has only two). For S- spider, sun, sock
students that you feel need more of a challenge, I T- telephone, turtle, tiger
have provided two blank mats. U- underwear ,unicorn , umbrella
V- vacuum ,volcano, van
W- wagon, watch, watermelon
X- x-ray, xylophone
Y- yo-yo, yak, yarn
Z- zipper, zebra, zoo
