Before Software Applications such as Microsoft Word were made that help people to

efficiently make word files, electric typewriters were the most commonly used technology at that
time to create word documents. Later on, Microsoft Word was developed, which helped many
users in different sectors. Microsoft Word is a helpful word processor software that is developed
by Microsoft. The founders of the Microsoft company are Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Developing
Microsoft Word software is not easy. There are so many versions that were made that kept on
improving as time went by. The first version or edition of MS Word was developed by Charles
Simonyi and Richard Brodie. This first version was not very popular with people because of the
better word processor competitors. Later that year, in 1985, version 2.0 was developed with
improved features such as spelling check and word count. Lastly in 1993, the final version was
released that was also improved. It is also compatible with the Macintosh, Windows, and Disk
Operating System (DOS). Microsoft Word has improved and keeps on improving, especially in
this generation. Even on a mobile phone, you can create a word document using the MS Word
application.
Microsoft Word has helped many people when it comes to different institutions. Using
this software, students and teachers can create school works, school reports, documentations,
research papers, and so on. Workers in a company also use MS Word to make proposal reports.
Artists can also make their artworks using MS Word because it contains features that include
shapes, lines, and clipart. Lastly, writers can create their publications and stories using the MS
Word, and they can always edit and proofread their work using that. MS Word is indeed very
important because it includes many advanced features in creating a word document. Microsoft
Word can check the spelling of the content that you are working on. It can also count the words
and sentences, which helps us monitor the documents that we are working on. We can also create
resumes, newsletters, mailing lists, and personalize records with this software.
Did you also know that MS Word can autocorrect mistakes such as grammatical errors
and misspellings? It has also built-in calculator that can help students and teachers when solving
some mathematical problems. Users can also be able to highlight important words, and it also
offers many color choices that are surely loved by many users. For privacy purposes, we can
also lock our documents by putting passwords in them. With this feature, it is harder for bad
people to access important documents that are made by important people easily. We can also
easily identify and define unfamiliar words in the documents that we are browsing with its Smart
Lookup feature. As we can see, so many features are available in MS Word, and it has been
proven and tested by many people. Its features are still improving, which is a good thing for
many users.
