(i) Acceleration due to gravity g is a constant. For objects close to the Earth’s
surface, the value of g is generally taken to be 9.8 m s−2.

(j) An object can only be in free fall if the only force acting on it is its own weight.

Objects experience higher air resistance when their speed increases. When
the air resistance against an object equals its weight, the object starts to
travel at a constant speed known as terminal velocity. This means that the
object has zero acceleration.
