Conciseness, accuracy, and concreteness is what a scientific text needs, that
is how the scientific translation works, however a high proportion of such texts
are poorly written and sometimes inaccurate. Something interesting is that
56.2 percent of consumers say that the ability to obtain information in their own
language is more important than price, because one of the most important
things is the whole information and an information in your language is a master
piece, so a translator will help you to feel more comfortable and giving peace
of mind by being able understand their work in your native language. The
beauty of language in scientific texts depends on the dedication and effort and
the following essay express essential things about a good translator and also
to improve.

There are many translation techniques, and the best way to choose what
technique is the correct option, is reading and analyzing to known the essence
of the text, and also wondering if the text will continue having the same
meaning to the people of a specific language.

Direct Translation Techniques

Borrowing

Consist in taking words from other languages like a borrowing. In the science,
“radio” or technology like “Bluetooth”, “software”, and so on. The can be written
in the texts in italics.

Calque

Consist in a phrase borrowed from another language and translated

word-by-word, and the same phrase still having the same meaning in
difference languages, but as everything in life, it is not correct to say that it
applies to all sentences.

Literal Translation

One “common” but also problematic technique is the translation of a text

literally word-by-word. It may works in many sentences but in some cases they
can have no logic meaning.

This techniques are easier because they don’t need a comprehension process
because the text will have a proper understanding by itself.

Oblique Translation Techniques

Transposition

When the people start to learn a new language, the first thing what teachers
used to teach is the structure of it. Grammatical structures are often different in
different languages like in Japanese to English, deal with that problem, for
example:
English goes subject-verb-predicate:Mary (subject) ate (verb) chocolate
(predicate).

Japanese goes subject-predicate-verb:ボブ (subject) はケーキ (object) を食

べる(verb).

Modulation

A good translator needs to read a lot for a big lexicon, specially to this
technique. They change the point of view of the text without altering the
meaning, so the culture about a country and its language are really important
to study too.

Reformulation or Equivalence

This technique seems to be difficult and it can be used to do marketing, consist

in express something in a completely different way.

Adaptation

The culture is an important part of the language of a country, this technique

occurs when a sentence is expressed in a TOTALLY different way in another
language.

Compensation

A translator may deals with many kind of texts, one of them probably are the
none translation texts, all the original meaning is lost in the translation process.

Taking everything is consideration, it is also important to know everything

about a language, we are not working only with words, phrases or sentences,
the real expression of a language is about the culture (music, literature, films,
science), jargon, even their people. I think that the science necessarily needs a
secure and appropriated translation because it is the real language of the
whole world.

...

In the following text the techniques applied was transposition and literal
translation because they help to keep the correct meaning of the original text.

The Scientific text requires proper understanding of the subject along with firm
command over both the languages. The Scientific translators are supposed to
be trained in linguistics and specialized scientists in the research skills,
capable of translating the texts into their field of expertise. The translators must
stick to their own expertise while taking projects to be secure.

The complexity of scientific and technical translation lies in its very essence, it
lies in the necessity to translate highly specific terminology. Apart from
understanding the terminology itself, the translator must understand the
context where it is used for sometimes it is exactly the context that the use of a
particular term depends on.

Additionally, in terms of translating scientific and technical literature, it is

necessary to mention the strictly developed phraseology adopted in the work.
This phraseology is used in order to ensure that professionals immediately
notice the necessary details (information or a guide to an action). Any
deviations from the language adopted among specialists in the field are
immediately noticed, resulting in a sense of nonprofessional on the translator’s
part. "Well-established documentation language" refers to the use of the same
words and expressions, not only in terminology but also in the spheres of
general technical and everyday language, a certain type of semi-professional
jargon. Replacing these expressions with synonyms is unacceptable.

Additionally, the specific character of translating scientific texts is that a

misperception of the meaning of the text by the translator and / or incorrect use
of terminology can lead to a complete distortion of the meaning in the
translated material. Such shortcomings can be found in texts translated by a
translator who has not completely understood what the text was about or was
not familiar with the terminology used in it.
