Overview

In this lab you will connect to your assigned InfoSphere VDP Global
Manager and add two VDP appliances.

Hardware and Software required to complete this exercise

Laptop/Desktop Computer connected to the Education Virtual Lab


environment.

InfoSphere VDP Global Manager VM.

Two (2) VDP Appliances

Preparation

Consult your lab worksheet and determine the names and addresses that
you will be using for this lab.

Document Purpose
Overview

The purpose of the document is to provide the learners with the exact
steps that they will need to perform while adding appliances to IVGM.

Presentation Technique

This document contains screen captures of all the screens that the
students will be viewing during the Lab session and the corresponding
steps listed underneath the screen describing the action to be performed.
Additionally, there will be highlighted areas to bring focus to the activity
areas of the screen.

Steps to be performed
Adding Appliances to IVGM

Instructions
1. Open a browser and enter the IBM InfoSphere Training Lab URL
http://edulab.actifio.com.

2. In the Actifio University Banner, enter your assigned IBM


InfoSphere Training Lab Username (student<your assigned lab
number>) and your assigned Training Lab Password (<your
assigned lab password>).
Click the Login button.

3. Enter your Student lab environment on the Horizon Screen by
clicking the icon.

4. You are now on the main student screen and can move on to
performing the Lab Exercises.

5. From the main student screen, select a browser of your choice


and Log in to InfoSphere VDP Global Manager (IVGM) portal using
your credentials.

6. The End User License Agreement (EULA) may be displayed.

If so, scroll to the bottom and click on the I Agree button.


If you would like the EULA displayed again, check the SHOW
AGAIN button.

7. Since this is your first access, you will be required to Add New
Appliance. Enter in the correct IP Address and User Credentials for
your prod-01 appliance as they appear on your lab worksheet, and
then select Add Appliance.

8. If the appliance is discovered successfully, the following screen will


appear with all of the objects to be imported and added into IVGM.

After reviewing the list, select the Add Appliance button at the
bottom-right of the screen to finalize adding the appliance and
importing the objects.

9. You may now exit the screen.


10. Perform steps 8 through 10 once again, using the VDP-DR
appliance credentials.

11. When you have added both appliances,
Select Manage Appliances, the screen should show both of your
appliances on the screen.

12. Verify that all of the Appliances Health are indicating Green. If not,
please notify your instructor.

Do not proceed to the next lab until directed by your instructor.
