Fish
Fish
A fish is an animal which lives and breathes in water. All fish are vertebrates
(have a backbone) and most breathe through gills and have fins and scales.
Fish are cold-blooded, which means their internal body temperature changes
as the surrounding temperature changes
Freshwater fish
Freshwater fish are those that spend some or all of their lives in fresh water, such
as rivers and lakes, ponds, and wetlands with a salinity of less than 1.05%. These
environments differ from marine conditions in many ways, the most obvious being the
difference in levels of salinity. To survive fresh water, the fish need a range
of physiological adaptations.
