Important: Please read the installation instructions carefully and follow the recommended steps!

If an old version of WinDelta is already installed on your computer, carry out the following steps before
installing the new version:

• Start the old version of WinDelta.

• In the Options/Configuration menu, open the Serial Port page and note the COM port
displayed to the right of Default (e.g. COM1).

• If you want to keep the stored parameter sets, select the menu Parameters/LRV and export all
existing parameter sets (click Export => All parameter sets). Save the file (for example under
the name ParaLRV.prm) to the folder C:\Temp). Close the window.

• Open the menu Parameters/VF-LRV and export all existing parameter sets (click Export => All
parameter sets). Save the file (for example under the name ParaVF_LRV.prm) to the folder
C:\Temp).

Removing the old version:

• Exit and close all programmes. Refer to the Windows help for information about how to remove a
programme.

Installing the new version (the following steps may take a few minutes):

• Navigate to the setup file Install_WinDelta32_1pXX_EN.exe (XX = program version) either by

clicking the Windows Start button and selecting Run then Browse, or by using the Windows
Explorer.

• Double-click the file Install_WinDelta32_1pXX_EN.exe. After a few moments, an installation

dialog will be displayed.

• If any further dialogs (see picture below) are displayed, click “YES” or “OK”

• Click the button Next (or Install or Finish) until the installation is terminated. A shortcut will
automatically be placed on the desktop.

• Start the new programme.

• In order to determine the serial port used for data communication between the programme
WinDelta32 (PC) and the Delta Controller (control card), in the Menu Options / Configuration,
call up the Serial Port page, select the port you wrote down or a port from the list of available
ports and check the box Default in order to store the current settings.

• If you wish to reuse the parameter sets that you previously exported, select the menu
Parameters/LRV and import (click Import => All parameter sets) the stored file (e.g. the file
ParaLRV.prm from the folder C:\Temp). Click the button (Refresh
data) before closing the window.

• Select the menu Parameters/VF-LRV and import (click Import => All parameter sets) the
stored file (e.g. the file ParaVF_LRV.prm from the folder C:\Temp). Click the button
(Refresh data) before closing the window.

• Refer to the integrated on-line help (Menu Help/Contents and Index / Contents / WinDelta32 /
Settings) for further information about settings.
