This document discusses the benefits of using a homemade air cooler compared to traditional air conditioners. It explains that an air cooler works by evaporating water, which cools the surrounding air without using harmful refrigerants. Homemade air coolers are more affordable and eco-friendly than air conditioners. They provide humidity which improves comfort, while air conditioners can cause health issues like headaches when used extensively. The document then outlines the basic components and step-by-step process for building a simple homemade air cooler.

The air cooler working

model helps students learn
how the air cooler works
and how it can be built by
using material that is readily
available at home at a low
cost.
Our main idea is to help our
planet Earth…
Air cooler
An air cooler is a home-made
devise that cools the air using
evaporated water.

The refrigerant used in this

differs from those used in the
common air conditioning
devices- which are based on
vapour compression or
adsorption refrigeration cycle.
How an air cooler
works…
The liquid produced by the
air cooler is converted into
vapour, it absorbs heat from
it surrounding dry air,
thereby cooling the air.
Apart from cooling, it also
increases the amount of
humidity in the air, which
gives extra-comfort in dry
areas such as Mombasa.
Advantages of an air
cooler:
Air coolers humidify the dry
air surrounding it, and
changes in humidity have
substantial knock-on impacts
at both the global and local
level, including on the
strength and frequency of
wildfires.
Items used to make the air
coolers are easily found at
home.
It saves electricity bills.
The handmade air coolers use
a small amount of energy that
is used in a considerable
amount of time
Affordable
Lower cost
It uses water for cooling and
do not refrigerate
Eco-friendly
Fresh air with added moisture

Air conditioner
Air conditioning, often
abbreviated as A/C or AC, is
the process of removing heat
from an enclosed space to
achieve a more comfortable
interior environment. Air
conditioning can be achieved
using a mechanical 'air
conditioner' or alternatively a
variety of other methods,
including passive cooling or
ventilative cooling. Air
conditioning is a member of a
family of systems and
techniques that provide
heating, ventilation, and air
conditioning (HVAC). Heat
pumps are similar in many
ways to air conditioners, but
use a reversing valve to allow
them to both heat and also cool
an enclosed space.
Disadvantages of an
air cooler:
Air conditioners pass air
through a cooling
mechanism, unlike fans
which only circulate the air
to make a room seem
cooler. While this
mechanism makes an air
conditioner more effective
at cooling a room than the
fan, it also has several
negative effects on your
health. Though you may not
be able to avoid air
conditioners entirely, it is
best to use them minimally
and ensure that they are
cleaned regularly

Headaches
People who work in buildings
with central air-conditioning
where the temperature is
always kept very low tend to
experience headaches
regularly. They are also more
prone to fatigue and catch
colds, coughs or the flu easily.
When Chlorofluorocarbon
molecules come in contact
with the ozone the
Chlorofluorocarbon
molecules break down and
releases chlorine molecules
which destroy the ozone

Hydrofluorocarbon
emissions cause increased
warming of the stratosphere,
speeding up the chemical
reactions that destroy ozone
molecules
Chlorofluorocarbon: a gas
used in fridges and, in the
past, in aerosols.
CC12F2- formula

Hydrofluorocarbon: are a
commonly used
refrigerant classification
used across the globe.
HFC-23: Common
HFC3: Structure
Hypothesis
As for what a motor does to
produce electricity, that is a
deep phenomenon and a
wonder of the forces in Allah
ta’ala’s khilqat.
Questions and answers:
1. What is the basic working
principle of air cooler?

Basic working principle of air

cooler by water evaporation to
cool the air, with this it
absorbs the heat energy and
lowers the air temperature.

2. How can I make my desert

cooler more effective?
To make desert cooler more
effective make sure of proper
ventilation, add ice to water,
good care of cooler and finally
saturate the cooling pads
before use.

3. Does air cooler good for

health?

Yes, as there is natural

evaporation of water, it is
considered Eco-friendly and
Green.
4. Does air cooler work in
humid condition?
Yes, Works in humid
conditions however its
efficiency gets affected as
evaporation becomes slow
during high humidity.
Conclusion…
An air is eco-friendly and
wallet-friendly. Not only does
it help to lessen the destruction
to the ozone layer but also
helps us to save our resources.
In conclusion, a home-made
air cooler is a fun activity for
children and a great
replacement for the machine
that is destroying or home.
Materials Used in Air
Cooler
Plastic container
Small fan
DC Motor
Battery cell
Ice Cube
Hot Glue Gun
Wires
Scissor to Cut
Plastic cup
Procedure...
We’ll start of by taking a
plastic cup and puncturing
holes all round it. Then
according to the measurements
you get from the cups lip, we
will be cutting out holes on the
lid (use the same method to cut
holes, if your using pipes) then
because the lid is lose, we will
be sticking it on, you can do
the same. Due to sticking the
lid on we’ll be cutting a small
space to insert the ice cubes.
*now we move on the
electrical part*

Firstly, pierce the hole into a

Popsicle stick and insert it onto
the motor, (and using a stopper
you can block the Popsicle
stick onto the motor) glue it
on. Next, twist the wires,
connect them onto the motor
then stick them behind the
Popsicle stick. Now, with the
parts of the wires that are
sticking out connect the
switch. Attach the batteries
onto the battery holder and
bind the two wires together to
let electricity flow through.
Lastly, connect the batteries…

*Going back to the plastic

container*

Now that you’re done with the

circuit glue the Popsicle stick
on the top of the containers lid.
Glue the circuit onto the side.
Next, cut the cup from both
sides (just a slit) glue the cup
on top of the motor. Then
decorate the air cooler to your
liking... Flip the switch as you
let the cool breeze flow
through your hair! Thank you!
Have a Cool Day!
