Job Summary

We are a development non-profit organization focusing on food security, livelihoods and


climate change. We have operations in Manicaland, Masvingo and Matebeleland North and
South and we have a staff complement of 110 people. We are hiring for a Finance Manager.
The incumbent will manage our book keeping, accounting, budgeting, cash flow and overall
financial management and reporting of the organization. This includes capture and post
entries, handle payrolls, prepare bank reconciliation statements, compile financial reports.
The Finance Manager will be responsible for developing and complying with financial and
administrative policies and procedures and play a vital role in improving and maintaining the
financial standing of our organization. The candidate will help arranging the appropriate
funding and managing financial risks in the organization

Duties And Responsibilities


PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Provide leadership to finance and accounting areas of the organization.
ii. Provide useful financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and
executing strategy, and provide guidance and analysis to the board, executive and
operational management to improve results.
iii. Maintain system of accounts and keep books and records on all transactions and assets.
iv. Prepare and analyze accurate monthly financial and management reports, including
income statement, balance sheet, budget and variance, projections and forecast, and cash
flow
v. Ensuring that cash flows are adequate to allow regional offices to operate effectively;
vi. Forecasting cash payments and anticipating challenges arising from limited cash flow;
vii. Working with management to prepare budgets;
viii. Creating solutions to new financial challenges by applying financial/treasury knowledge;
ix. Liaising with other departments and business units on a range of issues;
x. Providing advice on financial matters impacting on the organization as a whole;
xi. Taking responsibility for, and supervising the work of, junior finance staff;
xii. Arranging financial audits and reviews as required;
xiii. Maintaining and transferring money between bank accounts as required;
xiv. Payment of invoices and fees as required or otherwise instructed;
xv. Manage payroll for organization;
xvi. Complete tax filings and dealing with matters relating to other statutory deductions and
payments;
xvii. Recommend and maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate
level of control over finance activities for the organization

Qualifications And Experience

Interested candidates should have at least a Bachelor’s qualification in Accouncting or


Financial Management & an accounting qualification CIS, ACCA or CIMA is a must.
Applicants should have more than 5 years working experience in a similar position.
Critical or technical competencies required: The candidate must have proficient knowledge in
computerized accounting programs, accounting principles, preparation of financial reports,
Pastel and Belina payroll systems and reporting, giving attention to detail, a team player who
is trans-cultural, demonstrate a strong ability to ensure that the financial aspects of the
organization (strategic budgets, financial systems) are appropriately managed and ensure
transparency and accountability; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills and
proficiency in both oral and written English.

Job Summary

To capture and post entries; evaluate, or recommend approval of loan applications, prepare
statements to support financial analysis and reporting of the organization. Accountant will
play a vital role in improving and maintaining the financial standing of our companies. The
ideal candidate will help determine financial strategy and policy, arranging the appropriate
funding and managing financial risks in the organization.

Duties And Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Recommend financial support to smallholder farmers
• Justify decisions (approvals/rejections) and report on them
• Review and update credit support files to smallholder farmers
• Compute payment schedules, maintain and update account records
• Communicate with the public and field team either to request or to provide information
• Οperate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance
guidelines
• Helps Finance Manager in financial reports preparations
• Preparation of project reports, individually and collectively and compiling expense reports
• Prepares and facilitates creditors payments; ensures proper completeness of supporting
vouchers.
• Carry other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications And Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting plus 3+ years of progressively responsible


finance. Holding professional qualifications (such as CIS/ACCA is an added advantage).
Detail oriented and organized; Strong planning and prioritization abilities. The candidate
must have proficient knowledge in computerized accounting programs, accounting
principles, preparation of financial reports, payroll systems and reporting, good
understanding of relevant municipal legislation, policies and procedures. Must maintain
confidentiality and discretion in all aspects and be comfortable with flexible working
schedule to meet the needs of the organization’s management.
