Question 1
Select an application of IoT from daily life and explain the role of IoT in that
system.

As the use of IoT applications is widespread, the medical field is no exception.


Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is an excellent example if IoT which is used in
medical and health field. It has made analysis and monitoring of a patient a lot
more effortless than it was before. Using devices which are equipped with IoMT
can enable us to monitor the patient’s heart rate, blood pressure or oxygen with
ease. IoT has created enormous opportunities to modernize complex medical
processes by delivering exact and well-timed information to patients as well as
their care takers or doctors.

Question 2
How a business can use technology such as augmented reality (tools) to market
its products as per customer needs?

Augmented Reality is comparatively new technology in the field of sales and


marketing. AR enables businesses and brands to interact virtually with their
customers but make it look like they are testing and trying the products in their
real life. Use of AR helps in increased engagement because the customers tend to
trust more when they have an idea of the product they are getting. In addition to
this, AR helps reducing the cost of advertisement which is relatively more
expensive. AR is an interactive and a practical technology so it also resolves the
conflict of not getting what you expected because the products are already tried.

Question 3
Differentiate between Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality. Also discuss
applications of VR in our daily life?

The terms AR and VR are sometimes confused as one however they are quite
different to one another in many ways. AR has real world settings and the users
can control it using their smartphone’s camera. In comparison to that VR is a
100% virtual technology which requires a handset device and it simulates the
vision created by the developer Gaming is very well-known application of Virtual
Reality but in addition to entertainment purposes, VR has wide applications in the
field of medical and education e.g., medical students practicing and learning new
technologies using VR.

Question 4
Discuss your home internet network technology. How are you connecting
multiple devices with this network?

We have an 8MB Broadband package powered by PTCL at my home. It’s a VDSL


Connection (Very High-Speed Digital connection. VDSL modem has four built in
and 32 Wi-Fi channels. We connect some of the gadgets through Ethernet cable
like Desktop computers, Smart TV and Switches. However, most of the current
day electronic. Devices are connected through wireless ports of the VDSL modem.
It has a range of about 25 meters radial distance in ideal circumstances.
