ABSTRACT

The offshore oil and gas industry is focused on oil and gas recovery from beneath the seabed

to meet the global energy demand. Tension Leg Platform is one of the four major platform types,

that is anchored to the seafloor. TLP is commonly planned to serve several efficient roles together

with offshore oil and gas usage. It is mostly utilized for deep-water applications. However, the

lack of scientific papers discussing TLP is evident. This paper summarized available information

and guidance for the floating offshore platform design of the Tension Leg Platform (TLP) system.

The prominences in this paper were on the design of the TLP as a platform, particularly with regard

to its sizing, proportions, tendon arrangement, and the integration of many diverse, important

design aspects. The ultimate goal is to deliver the most cost-effective, safe, and dependable

platform for satisfying functional needs.

heaven for providing us everything that we need to complete this research endeavor.
This study was accomplished with the help of several persons who were willing to extend
their assistance. The researchers would like to express their deepest gratitude to the following who
contributed much to the success of this endeavor:
To Engr. Philip Maigue, the Instructor for Elective II (Offshore Engineering, for providing
guidance and imparting his knowledge to the researchers.
To our Parents, for their unyielding support, both morally and financially, their love and
encouragement that have been the researchers’ inspiration to pursue this study;
To our friends and block mates, for reminding us important details for this subject.
Thank you very much.
