Servers- a server is a computer program or device that provides a service to
another computer program and its user, also known as the client.
Specialized computers- a hardware device that's not as open as a general-
purpose computer and more complex than a special-purpose computer.

one of the biggest technology companies in the world, with operations in more
than 170 countries and over 345,000 employees worldwide.

Types of Computer
Computers are programmable electronic devices designed to accept data,
perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and
display the results of these operations. You can use this to type documents,
send email, play games, and browse the Web.

Let us look at all these types of computers in detail.

1. Desktop computers

Desktop computers are personal computers (PCs)

designed for use by an individual at a fixed location.
Many use desktop computers at work, home, and
school.

2. Personal Computer (PC)

A personal computer (PC) generally refers to a
computer that runs on the windows operating system.

3. Mac (Macintosh)

The Macintosh computer was introduced in 1984, All

Macs are made by one company (Apple), and they
almost always use the Mac OS X operating system.

4. Laptop computers
Despite its huge popularity, desktops gave way to a
more compact and portable personal computer called laptop. Laptops are
battery-powered computers that are more portable than desktops, allowing
you to use them almost anywhere.

5. Tablet computers

After laptop, computers were further miniaturized to

create machines that have processing control of a
desktop but are small enough to be held in one’s palm.

6. Servers

Servers are computers with high processing speeds

that provide one or more services to other frameworks
on the network. They may or may not have screens
connected to them.

Other types of computers

Many of today's electronics are basically specialized computers, here are a
few common examples.

▪ Smartphones: A smartphone may be a cellular phone

with an integrated computer and other features not
initially related with an ordinary telephone.

▪ Wearables: Wearable technology could be a common

term for a group of devices including fitness trackers
and smartwatches that are designed to be worn
throughout the day.

▪ Game consoles: A game console is a specialized type

of computer describes as a gaming box or gadget that is
basically designed to play games that connects to a TV.
▪ Smart TV: In case you haven't bought a TV in a few
years, you could be astounded to see that most TVs
nowadays are considered smart TVs, with Internet
connectivity and apps for streaming and smart home
functions.
