1. SCOPE
This procedure applies to internal cleaning of Pressure Vessel or Tank manufactured in
accordance with the code after completion fabrication and Non Destructive Examination. This
also applies prior to repair pressure vessel or tank.
2. PURPOSE
This procedure is to determine the requirements and ensure the cleanliness of the Pressure
Vessel and Tank intenal conditions.

4. RESPONSIBILITY
4.1. Boxing Up Personnel is responsible for all internal cleaning.
4.2. Supervisor / Foreman is responsible for determining personnel for the internal cleaning
process.
4.3. QC Inspector is responsible for cleaning results in accordance with the specification of
this procedure.
4.4. HSE Officer is responsible for all safety aspects for internal cleaning process.
5. GENERAL REQUIREMENT
5.1. Cleaning Media
Fresh water with Ph > 6.4 shall be used as a cleaning fluid during the internal cleaning.
In the case of Austenitic Stainless Steel, water with maximum chlorine content of
100ppm shall be used as the internal cleaning fluid.
5.2. Temperature
It us recommended that the metal temperature be kept at least 10°C above design
temperature specified on the AFC Drawings. And Maximum should not more than 48°C.
5.3. Tools
5.3.1. Wire Brush
5.3.2. Compressor
5.3.3. Vacuum Cleaner (if necessary)
5.3.4. Water Pump.
6. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
Boxing up is accepted if the residual water visualy is clean using paper, there is no more dirt
attached.
