Introduction and Beliefs On Teaching
Field studies 1 and 2 are learning opportunities outside the traditional classroom. Students can collect
their data through field studies, which also give them the chance to apply what they have learned in the
classroom through firsthand experience and observation. These are important ways to give an aspiring
teacher the necessary knowledge, abilities, skills, and approaches.
This observation and experience changed my perspectives on teaching and learning. I am about to
gather another set of experiences, new ideas, and an understanding of how it is to become an effective
teacher. One thing that I need to be more focus on is that I have to reflect myself in four corners of a
classroom those strategies that I need to improve, so I could use it to catch the interest of every student.
This portfolio is a visual journey of my field study 1 and 2 as a student teacher. I began one of the final
steps of my teaching career. I put on my teacher's shoes and I met hundreds who would turn out to be
my first batch of students, and hoping for a million batches of them in the near future. This will be a
collaborative effort with input from my observation and the educators in my learning journey.
This portfolio also gathers information about these final steps; personal and professional situations that
occurs while I was teaching and observing at Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School at Santa
Maria Bulacan. It contains evaluation, journal, reflection, feedback about this process and the work
carried out for these 120 hours of learning and teaching.
BELIEFS ON TEACHING
Teaching in the presence of good diversity can create a huge impact on students learning. It involves
positive classroom setting by implementing good diversity, wherein students should feel comfortable
despite their differences. Culture, religion, tradition, age, appearances, behavior, and skills are some of
the cases that a teacher must be knowledgeable about. Since these are some hindrances in a school
community.
An effective teacher will always seek a lot of strategies that will help the students to go outside the box.
A teacher should always use the overall approaches, so the students wouldn't stick to their perspectives.
It helps the student to think critically, since every student learns differently. It would be better for the
learning environment for individuals who cannot learn something in just one way if teachers used a
variety of teaching methods. Furthermore, it is important for the students to be able to learn
appropriately to achieve their greatest learning potential and to develop life-long skills through this
good diversity. But they have to start with what they already know and understand in order to come to
new understandings. I do believe that when students are engaged, they learn best. Most specially when
students are provided the opportunity to deal with actual issues, make decisions, and find answers,
meaningful learning takes place. And through this, a teacher can define how successful their teaching
career with the help of measuring the changed behavior of the students.
