Unit IV Section of Solids

This document discusses sections of solids in engineering graphics. It defines key terms like section, section plane, and sectional view. It describes 4 types of section planes and provides examples of solids cut by section planes of each type. Examples include prisms, pyramids, cones, and cylinders cut by planes parallel, perpendicular, or inclined to the horizontal and vertical planes. The document aims to teach how to draw top views, front views, and true shapes of sections for different sectioning scenarios.
