Slide 2: We see and we study about the teacher, pero at the end of this discussion, we need to have a
deeper understanding of what it means to be a teacher, to do that, need natin madefine kung sino ang
maituturing nating professional teacher. Hindi lang yun, need natin malaman kung ano yung mga
attributes na dala dala ng mga professional teachers. Lastly let us appreciate the qualities and the values
that are needed and displayed by the teachers in our society today.

Slide 3: Not everyone can be called a professional teacher. According sa Code of Ethics of Professional
Teachers, need natin maging licensed professional, in other words, need natin magin licensed individuals
before we begin to call ourselves a professional teacher. Next, we also need to adhere to rules and
regulations na nakapaloob sa professiona natin. May mga alituntunin at patakaran tayong need sundan
at patuloy na sundan para matawag natin ang ating mga sarili natin na professional teachers.

Additionally, need din natin makatapos ng 4 year course na may teaching units. Pagtapos nun, ay
kailangan natin makapasa sa board exams for teachers, or LET para maibigay satin ang title na LPT o
licensed professional teacher. Ito ay pinagkakaloob ng PRC o Professional Regulation’s Commission

Slide 4: Ang PRC ang nag eensure na ang mga nararapat lang or yung mga may tunay na qualifications
ang mabibigyan ng title na LPT. Bukod pa dun, may mga kinakasa din silang mga program for teacher
improvement and making sure that they are updated with the latest techniques that are available today.

Slide 5: Now, let us look sa mga katangian or attributes that are needed when someone is called a
professional teacher. May dalawang aspect tayong titignan based on our resource. First is the
professional attributes or those that are related to the work that they practice, and next is the personal
attributes that are ingrained in the mindset and attitude of the persons claiming to be a professional
teacher.

Slide 6: When we look at the professional side, here are some skills that they must possess. First they
need to be knowledgeable about the process of learning and teaching. Dapat updated yung alam nila
and alam nila ang mga dapat malaman when it comes to their profession. This ensures that they are also
continually improving when it comes to their practice in the field. Next, they need to be skilled or they
need to have mastered the process of teaching and learning. This may also mean that they have to make
sure that they know where to consult when it comes to how to teach in field. They also must know how
to deal with everything that comes in their way. Dapat alam nila maghandle ng mga problema when it
comes to the profession that they are handling. Next, we teachers need to have a lifelong commitment
to teaching and learning. It needs to be a part of life and should be treated as such.
Slide 7: The next attributes that are needed come from within the person, and as such, they are
personally referred to as personal attributes . passion refers to the willingness of a person and his love
for his profession. This means that a teacher needs to be passionate about the field that they are
handling. It is not enough that they are skilled, they must learn to love their work and be passionate
about what they do everyday.

Next, we need to have humor. Learning should not be a mere boring task. Professional teachers learn to
insert proper humor that enhances the learning process and makes use of it to continually engage their
students. Humor is what makes an otherwise ordinary lesson into a memorable one that the students
like.

Teachers also possess values and attitudes that guide them towards the practice of their profession. As
such, there are rules that we need to follow in order for us to be considered professionals in our own
right. The way we act must reflect our disposition towards the roles that we play in society. As important
as our role is, equally important is the attitude in which we fulfill it.

Teachers must also be inherently patient as well. The fruits of their labor are not always seen, and many
difficulties await them when it comes to practicing their profession. Being patient means that we
understand that our efforts are not instantly rewarded.

Teachers must also be enthusiastic. Their energy must be known to their students, making sure that
they are as energetic as can be. This motivates that students into a fruitful discussion on the topic at
hand and the subsequent lessons.

Lastly, teachers are supposed to be committed. They must be held to their values and be consistent in
the oath of their profession. Their values must be committed into the practice of their profession and
they must know fully what it means to be a teacher.

Slide 8: Effective Teachers also share similar results according to researchers.

1. Teachers can improve the grades of their students. They can improve the status and the results
of the students that are under their care. They are also wise when it comes to how the students
improve and can achieve improvement even with the different personalities and backgrounds of
each students.
2. Teachers that are effective create lasting bonds with their students. They are embedded in the
memory of the students that they teach because they are outstanding in their field. Similarly,
they are also remembered because they create lasting bonds through effective teaching and life
changing strategies
 3. Teachers that are effective are also fair in their judgement of work. They are aware of the
differences and try to be as fair as possible. The standards that they set are attainable to each
and every student and they are given appropriate marks for their performance.
4. Effective teachers are consistent. They show the same performance consistently and achieve the
same great results. They are steadfast and passionate in their teachings and making sure that
each student gets consistent effort.
5. Teachers in this category are also known for motivating their students to do better when it
comes to their performance. They push the limits of their students and make them achieve
things that they thought they could not have. This is part of the lasting impact that teachers
leave on their students.
6. Similarly, teachers also improve a student's outcome on the learning process as a whole. They
improve the way students look at learning which is the starting point for their success in school.
Teachers who make the learning experience suited for the students are effective teachers
7. Teachers are often credited with their students’ success. Their effectiveness leaves an impact
that is credited with making their student’s lives and their futures better
