may engage yourself in doing things that will make you
happy.
You may-
· visit a park or a historical monument.
· listen to Grandma’s stories.
· learn and play a new game with Grandpa.
· play indoor and outdoor games.
· go out for picnics and walks with your family and
friends.
· admire the beauty of nature during the day like the
sunrise and the sunset.
· watch the stars at night. Look for the brightest star.
· learn new songs and dance steps.
· read new stories.
· try out new recipes with your mother.
· write a letter to your cousin/ friend/ grandparents.
Go to the post office to post it.

This year we plan to take you on a trip to the beautiful state of
Manipur, we will be talking about all of it – its location, cuisine,
dance, music and what not.
So, gear up and get ready to embark upon this journey.
 Use A4 size coloured pastel sheets to jot down the

information you’ve gathered.


 All drawings to be made on A4 size white ivory sheet/pastel

sheet.
 Put all your sheets in a folder and bring them to school on a

date which will be duly intimated.

India is a home to 28 states and 8 union territories. Manipur


is a state in Northeast India, with the city Imphal as its
capital. The state has a rich cultural past, dating back to
centuries. It is the birthplace of the renowned classical dance
form ‘Raas Lila.’ Raas Lila known as Raas in Manipur is a
famous religious festival. Its music is an amalgamation of folk
music of Manipur and classical Hindustani Ragas. It is
performed in a circular area of the temple generally called
the mandap . You can enjoy the essence of Manipuri dance

Manipur is India’s largest bamboo producing state and is a


major contributor to the country’s bamboo industry.
Manipur is famous for its handicrafts too
 Kaun Grass Craft– Kaun is a reed which grows in the
wetlands of Manipur. Its cylindrical, soft and spongy stem is
woven into mats, square and rectangular cushions and
mattress. The mats are woven by interlacing the stalks with
jute threads using basic and simple tools.

 Let’s make a look alike sample from the things available in


our surroundings.

You can use brown paper strips or straws to make the same.

'Pena' is the oldest musical instrument of the Meitei group of people. It
is played in folk, solo , in a group or as the accompanying instrument for
the Manipuri music and dance and at the Lai Haraoba festivals. The main
body of Pena is called 'Penamasa' and is made from bamboo and the bow
is called "Pena Cheijing." It is attached to a coconut shell.

Draw this instrument and decorate it with appropriate material.

Explore any 2 famous tourist places each of Manipur and Haryana you
would like to visit and write 2-3 lines about each in Wordpad.

Colour the given pictures using pencil colours and shade


appropriately. You can give it a 3D effect by decorating it's
costumes and jewellery with any decorative material.

Plant A Tree, Grow Hope

June 5th is celebrated as World Environment Day every year.


To inculcate the love for our environment and to teach the
children about the importance of plants and trees, please
encourage your ward to plant a sapling in your house or park,
nurture, and water it on a daily basis.

Click a picture of your ward with the sapling and send the
picture to the class teacher by June 6, 2023.

International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 every year.


Let us imbibe in our children the zeal to be healthy and
flexible. This summer teach your ward some easy yoga poses
and motivate them to practise daily.

Send the picture to the class teacher on June 22, 2023.
Co-Curricular Portfolio - Know Me Better
Make a beautiful folder by using things available at home. Show
your creativity with colouring, pasting, doodling, Mandala Art
etc.
Name the folder as ‘Know me Better’.

Compile your achievements, learnings, research, observations


which may or may not be related to your school curriculum. Use
it to showcase your work in any area of your interest like art and
craft, photography, writing stories or poems, any observations
during travel, books you have read and what you learnt from it,
appreciation/certificates you have got for any event/sports etc.
Let it be a meaningful collection of your skills and interests which
helps us to know more about you.
