Introduction

WATER TURBINE GENERATOR

Context and Rationale

Recently, electric disruption can be experienced anywhere. These

disruption may affect our day to day living especially that we are experiencing a

global phenomenon which is global warming. Reportedly, according to the

electrical company a lot of us are experiencing brownouts because we do not

have enough power supply. The national electrical power in the short span of

two centuries, has become an indispensable part of modern day life. Our work,

leisure, healthcare, economy, and livelihood depend on a constant supply of

electrical power. Even a temporary stoppage of power can lead to relative

chaos, monetary setbacks, and possible loss of life. Our cities live on electricity

and without the customary supply from the power grid, pandemonium would

break loose. Power outages can be especially disastrous when it comes to life-

support system in places like hospitals and nursing homes or in co-ordinance

facilities such as in airports, trains stations, and traffic control.

Energy Conservation is an evergreen topic as a usage of the energy in our

daily lives. It is simply the act of cutting back on energy use by utilizing less of

the energy service provided and should not be confused with “efficient energy
use” which implies using less energy for a continuous service. Conserving

energy reduce air and water pollution that conserves natural resources,

which in turn creates a healthier living environment for people everywhere.

Saving energy results in lower living expenses as energy saving leads to

monetary savings. It helps protect environment from excess resources use

and carbon dioxide emissions.

With Hydroelectric power that comes from water at work and must be

in motion to generate electricity. Water turbine generator could be use to have

an electricity for the possible power shortage that may occur or happen. .

Unlike fossil fuels, hydro power does not destroy water during the

production of the electricity. It is a renewable source of energy that can

replace fuel’s electricity production while satisfying growing energy. This

provides low-cost electricity and durability over time compare to other

source of energy, Water turbine is used to convert energy that contained

potential energy. This provides no pollution towards the earth. Hydroelectric

energy is renewable in the sense that it is suitable for as long as the water

cycle continues to work. It is also makes an important contribution to light

against climate change because it helps avoid the use of fossil fuels and

reduce co2 immersions.

This can contribute a lot of advantages in our daily life. The cheapest

source overall in the medium to long term. Hydroelectric Energy is one of

the most environmentally friendly terms of energy production available for

us today that are reliable and highly efficient energy resources in the world.

It is flexible unlike other forms of power like solar, wind or coal.

Hydroelectric energy is constant flow of water to produce energy that can

easily be altered to meet supply demands that is also safe and economical.

Water turbine are generally considered a clean power producer, as the

turbine causes essentially no change to the water. It use a renewable energy

source and are designed to operate for decades, they produce significant

amounts of the world’s electrical supply. Historically there have also been

negative consequences, mostly associated with dams normally required for

power production.
II. Aims and Objectives Of The Research

The aim of this water turbine generator is to convert energy

contained in water, potential energy or kinetic energy, into mechanical or

electrical energy.

Also, this aimed at achieving the following objectives:

a. To allow each state to produce its own energy without being

reliant on international fuel sources

b. To have a low-cost use of electricity.

c. To provide essential backup power during major electricity

outage or disruption.

d. Very low indirect emissions.

e. To be able to help the people to generate electric power.

f. To help the common man with its portability and efficiency.

g. To decrease the usage of fossil fuels such as coal.

h. To be one of the routes to energy sufficiency.

i. To reduce expensive imports and replacing them with free,

abundant resources that will never run out.

j. To. Recycle materials, optimize costs and have a less impact on

the environment.
III. Materials And Design

The water turbine generator is a machine that contains different

parts with different functions. To carry out this function’s the part must be in

great shape and good quality. The materials and design are vital in making this

water turbine generator. Materials and design that are optimal shape, the

machine can function effectively. The material and design of our water turbine

generator are as follows:

 Capacitor

 Wires(0.75mm²)

 Dynamo or DC Generator

 Hose(1meter)

 Water gallon(20l)

 Screws

 Turbine blade(4inches)

 Battery(12v)

 Electrical tapes

 Outlet

 Regulator

 inverter 220VACO.
IV. PROCEDURE

Step 1: First get the equipment that will be needed. Cut a pieces of metal to

form a blade or also called the water turbine blade. If the equipment are all

complete pierce the lid of the gallon with the use of grainer and after putting a

hole in the lid connect the motor and the dynamo.

Step 2: Assemble the chip, together with the transformer or the regulator and

inverter and the outlet in a piece of wood.

Step 3:

Assemble all the materials and connect all the wires. Put a water inside the

gallon, check if there’s an electricity that the water turbine is producing.
