Introduction
The Functional Training 2 course aims to provide a good understanding of the most fundamental
financial configurations that a consultant executes when implementing Openbravo as well as providing
additional functionality such as pricing and assets. Whereas in the Functional Training 1 the demo data
were used, in this training data used in exercises will be set up by the student which helps give an
insight in what
configurations have to be executed manually as part of an implementation of the
application.
Through theory, handson exercises and quizzes the student will learn and simulate Openbravo Business
Suite business workflows .
Note: This course does not cover the technical knowledge required to perform a basic Openbravo Business
Suite implementation which is covered by our
Technical Training
courses .
Audience
Aimed at functional
consultants, partners and advanced users , this course requires the student to
already be familiar with the basic functional configuration of core Openbravo Business Suite as
taught in the Functional training 1 course.
If you are participating in
implementations of Openbravo and have some functional and accounting
background, this is the course for you!
Content
Using the Openbravo wiki User Guide as the source of information for the theory, the following content is
included in the course:
Modeling the enterprise:
● Localization pack installation
● Initial client set up
● Initial organization set up
● Exercises to configure the most commonly used business models
Financial reports and the chart of account:
● Configuration of balance sheet, Profit and loss report
● Configuration of the chart of account and the consequences it has on the financial reports
● Exercises to set up the financial reports and model the chart of accounts
Additional sections:

Session 1 A more in depth coverage and practical Client; Organization; Organization
Organization and execution of the concepts of master data changes; Calendar; Taxes; Account Tree;
accounting configuration management and accounting of which the Account Element; Openbravo Financial
basics were taught in Functional Training 1 Reports: Profit and Loss Report, Balance
Report, Trial Balance Report, General
Ledger Report, General Ledger Journal;
General Ledger Tables; Accounting
Background Process.

Session 2 Overview of the different discounts, Basic Discount; Volume Discount;
Master Data promotions and commissions. Discounts and Promotions; Commission
Management Pricing and Commission Payment

Session 4 This chapter describes the management of Fixed Assets; Linear Amortization; Posting
Asset Acquisition to an asset's lifetime, from acquisition to Amortization to the General Ledger; Asset
Dispose disposal, with its specific depreciation rules. Accounting Definition; Analysis Tools;
Includes Exercises.

The elearning format is offered as
selfstudy manner and over a time period of
2weeks
. The online
elearning platform comes with the following collaboration elements:

● Instructions for each participant’s
own instance of the Openbravo Business Suite application that
will be used to experience the application and perform the exercises listed
IRC chat room where an Openbravo Instructor is present to resolve any questions, issues or
doubts that may arise during the course.
* This is an experimental feature where instructor’s presence in the chatroom depends on the availability.
Forum support by an Openbravo Training Specialist is provided during
working hours in
Spain, i.e. Monday to Thursday 9AM to 6PM, CET, and Friday 9AM to 3PM, CET. We will
respond within one working day from the moment a forum post or inquiry is submitted.
Please note that we do our best to provide responses within a few hours (as well as on
weekends), though not obliged to do so.
This course is based on a selfstudy model with an estimated 30h student dedication
required. During the entire course length the student can choose his or her own pace to
follow and go through the chapters to complete the course. Depending on the student's effort
the course can be completed in any time between one and three weeks.
The elearning platform with all its elements such as study materials, On Demand virtual
instance, forums and
assignments is available for the full length of the course, 24/7.
Requirements
Knowledge prerequisites
● Basic knowledge of the functionality and configuration of Openbravo Business Suite, as taught in
the Functional training 1 course is required. Knowledge of the basic accounting concepts is vital to
understand this course as no accounting theory is covered.
Computer Requirements
● A compatible web browser. Due to the fact that Openbravo 3 is a
richinternetapplication
, the
newest browsers with optimized Javascript engines are recommended for the best user experience:
