WORDS OF WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CHORAL INTROIT *CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: The night is far gone, the day is near. People: Let us lay aside the works of the night and put on the garments of the light. All: Let us put on the garments of Jesus Christ, that all may know Christs glory and praise his precious name. *HYMN #94G Shout to the Lord *PRAYER OF CONFESSION Holy God, you have saved us for a purpose: You have overcome the darkness that we might embrace the light; you have defeated evil powers to make us glad and free. Yet we still sin. We succumb to temptation and idolatry and miss opportunities you set before us. We neglect your presence, which is as near to us as our neighbor. Forgive our debts, O God, and teach us forgiveness. Teach us to love with determination and joy, that as children of light, we may resemble you. *MOMENTS FOR SILENT, PERSONAL CONFESSION *ASSURANCE OF PARDON *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Nicene Creed (insert) *GLORIA PATRI (back cover of bulletin) CHILDRENS MESSAGE

THE NICENE CREED We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in our Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the virgin, Mary, and was made human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. he has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

NURSERY NEED If you are able to volunteer one Sunday or more in the nursery during worship service please use the sign up sheet located right outside of the upstairs nursery. We really do need help in order to keep the nursery running smoothly and keep our young families in the church. You only need to sign up for one Sunday. Any older teen to 95 could volunteer. You could sign up with a friend to help or on your own. Teenagers are always willing to help if there are a lot of babies on your particular Sunday. Thanks to Nick and Colleen you can now hear the service from the nursery!! This is an important ministry of our church and it would be great to staff it with volunteers.
