Introduction

Ladies and gentlemen, today we will talk about the life of the scientist Michael
Faraday and his most notable events. We will also talk about the experiment of the
Danish scientist Hans Christian Oersted, we ask for your humble attention.
Michael Faraday

Michael Faraday was a British physicist and chemist, born in 1791 and died in
1867. His contributions include Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, the
invention of the electric motor, and the discovery of benzene, one of the most
important hydrocarbons. Society, the most prestigious scientific organization in
the United Kingdom.
Important Events of his life

Education: Due to his family's financial situation, Michael Faraday had a limited
education and had to work as a bookbinder's apprentice from a young age. Beginning
of his scientific career: Faraday began his scientific career working as an assistant to
Humphry Davy at the Royal Institution in London, where he had the opportunity to
carry out research in chemistry and electricity. Research in electromagnetism.
Electric motor: Faraday also built the first electric motor in 1821, which used the
interaction between a magnetic field and electric current to produce movement.
Discovery of benzene: In 1825, Faraday discovered benzene, which is one of the most
important hydrocarbons and is used in the production of plastics, rubber, and
medicines.
People that he interacted with:

- Humphry Davy.

- William Whewell.

- James Clerk Maxwell.

- Joseph Henry.

- Benjamin Franklin.

- Prince Albert
Hans Christian Oersted

Hans Christian Oersted was a physicist and chemist, born in Rudkobing, Denmark
on August 14, 1777. He was interested in chemistry and natural history from a very
young age, but also in literature. Influenced by his father, who was a pharmacist,
he began his pharmacy studies in 1797, when he was twenty years old.
Oersted’s Experiment

In 1820, a Danish physicist, Hans Christian Oersted, discovered that there was a
relationship between electricity and magnetism. By setting up a compass through
a wire carrying an electric current, Oersted showed that moving electrons can
create a magnetic field. He empirically demonstrated that an electric current
moved a magnetic compass needle. There could be a relationship between
electrical forces and magnetic forces, which at that time was revolutionary.
