2. Installing the high pressure closing valve and turnable adapter .................. 5
The picture above shows the high pressure closing valve with a connection thread on
the right hand side protected by sealing cap for a PREMET® C-XL fuel sensor.
The turnable adapter to the left is made according to the requested thread and is for
the fuel injection pipe’s distribution block.
1.3 Fuel valve complete with key for operating high pressure valves
The complete assembly is shown above. On the right the PREMET® C-XL fuel plus
pressure sensor, followed by the coupling and the high pressure closing valve incl.
the turnable adapter.
Attention: The high pressure closing valve must be always closed before
connecting or disconnecting the fuel pressure sensor.
1) Separate the turnable adapter completely (Part a. and b.) from the high
pressure closing valve by loosening screw-no.: 7.
2) Tighten Part-a of the turnable adapter into the fuel distribution block using a
defined torque of 130 Nm.
4) Now connect the high pressure closing valve to the turnable adapter by
tightening Part-b using a defined torque of 35 Nm and ensure that the valve is
in a upright position.
Attention: The high pressure closing valve must be always closed before
connecting or disconnecting the fuel pressure sensor.
1) Before taking any readings with the equipment please connect the fuel
pressure sensor-no.: 14 to the relevant cylinder’s high pressure valve-no.:6.
Tighten nut-no.: 13 by using a socket wrench.
2) Connect the fuel pressure sensor to the PREMET® C-XL and prepare the
PREMET® C-XL for measurement as described the instruction manual.
6) Take the readings until the PREMET® C-XL display shows the message
“close valve”.
11) Once all readings have been taken the data can be transferred to a PC as
described in the PREMET® C-XL instruction manual.
