1. EQUIPMENT, ELECTRICAL
WECSplorer (material nr 007370318)

WECS 7/8000. WECSplorer is a trending,

maintenance and software downloading tool
for Wärtsilä engineers. This software is
available for customers. Requirements: Win
XP/NT/2000. Technical Service is providing
user accounts, contact [email protected].

LapCan II (material nr 007370306)

WECS7/8000 system is communicating by

using the CAN bus. The LapCan card is the
electrical interface between the PC
(WECSplorer) and the WECS system. It is a
PCMCIA card with two CAN bus channels. A
DNOpto cable is also needed. A CD with
Windows drivers is delivered with the card.
Latest drivers are also available from
www.kvaser.com

DNOpto (material nr 007370308)

The DNOpto cable is a galvanically isolated

CAN cable. This cable is needed together with
the LapCan II card and WECSplorer.

CAN extension cable (mat. nr 0050T004001)

WECS 7/8000 CAN Extension cable, length

10m in order to access all cylinders during
tuning. There is a 120ohm end resistor in the
PC end of the cable.

CCM10 / MCM700 programmer (mat. nr 0050T004101)

WECS 7/8000. Normally the modules are

programmed on the engine. This tool gives the
opportunity to program anywhere. 24VDC is
required. The tool should be connected to the A
connector of a CCM10 or MCM700 module.
The modules are programmed with
WECSplorer (LapCan and DNOpto required).
There is also a connector for CalTerm modem.

Ratiometric simulator (0050T004301)

WECS7/8000. This is a pressure simulator. The

pressure sensors connected to WECS 7/8000 is
of ratiometric type (0.5-4.5V). The range of the
potentiometer can be selected to 0-5V or 0.5-
4.5V. There are measurement points available
for a multimeter. The device needs no external
power supply. It has the same type of connector
as the sensors, and works as a “Plug and Play”
device.

Termistor simulator (mat. nr 0050T004201)

WECS 7/8000. The termistor simulator has 9

fixed temperatures (30, 50, 65, 75, 80,105, 110,
115 and 150degC) and one 10 turn
potentiometer (25 to 160degC). The device has
same type of connector as the sensors, and
works as a “Plug and Play” device.

PT100/mA/TC Tester (mat. no. 008610054)

This multitester is used for testing of
measurement circuits and for simulating the
following sensors / transducers:

- PT100 (-80 to +170degC)

- Type K thermocouple (0 to 600degC)
- mA transducer (3 to 30mA)

The mA transducer do not feed out mA, it is

working as a 3-30mA load. The thermocouple
simulation requires a 9V inbuilt battery

Frequency generator (mat. no. 0050T002001)

For all WECS systems and basic engine

automation systems (Despemes/Spemos). For
simulating of speed measurement circuits. In
WECS 7/8000 installations it should only be
used for over speed trip module testing, since
120-1 technology is used for operational speed
measuring.

Speed simulator 120-1 (PAAE021799)

The speed simulator is needed when simulating

engine running on a WECS7/8000. It is
configurable between 90-1 and 120-1, 10..4kHz

2. EQUIPMENT, ELECTRO MECHANICAL

Red removal tool (0050T001802)

This tool is used when contact pins are to be

removed from the DEUTCH connector. The
DEUTSCH connectors are used on both
MCM700 and CCM10. This tool is very fragile
and breaks easily, thus also cheap. The
recommended amount is 10pcs.

CMR01 Extractor tool (mat. nr 0050G281905)

For pressure sensors and temperature sensors

equipped with male DIN 72585 connectors. The
female connector on the engine side can be
extracted with this tool. Very useful if the
connector has been mechanically destroyed but
the pins are ok.

CMR01 and CMR02 crimp tool (0050G281907)

This crimp tool is intended for DIN 72585 pins.

Wire dimensions of 0.5-1.0mm2 and 1.5-2.5mm2
are supported.

Crimp tool, end sleeves (0050B085101)

According to WED tests, this tool should be

used when end sleeves are pressed on wires.
Especially in installations using spring loaded
terminals (for instance all CIB-boxes).

Cable stripping tool

Useful cable stripping tool for cables used on

engine. Two types available;
4-8mm cables, mat.no PAAE010982

Operating tool, WAGO (0050T001601)

This is a must for all engineers both electrical

and mechanical. The new terminals from
WAGO have no screws, but are spring loaded.
This tool has to be used when wires are
connected or removed, since the use of
screwdrivers shortens the lifetime drastically of
the terminal.

Extraction tool, Wieland (YLE0003)

Extraction tool for Wieland connector. The

Wieland connectors are used for external
connection in the WECS cabinets. This tool can
extract both pins and sockets. Spare tip mat.
no. is YLE0009.
