2.0 GENERAL

2.1 Description of Equipment

FSI Series 5000B CD single deck linear cuttings driers are designed to process various material slurries
where fine screening is required. The adjustable deck makes it possible for materials to de-water before
being discharged Processing rates vary with slurry content, percentage of solids and viscosity. Each of the
four pretensioned screen panels can be installed or replaced independently of each other. Replacement of
screens can be achieved in approx. 2 to 5 minutes. The only tool required is a light to medium weight
hammer. Deck angle is adjustable while running from 0° to +5° enabling rapid adjustment in response to
changing type and loading of solids.

As with all cuttings driers processing rate is dependent upon solids content, solids type and fluid viscosity.
Processing rates are therefore dependent upon screen mesh and mud properties.

Each cuttings drier has four-pretensioned screen panels of all stainless steel 1,2 and/or 3 layer construction.
Screens are clamped by the unique WedgeLokTM system requiring only a light to medium weight hammer for
screen changing.

The 5000B CD Linear Cuttings drier is designed for the lowest possible maintenance. Vibrators are
permanently sealed and are lubricated. Routine maintenance comprises checking of screen condition, deck
rubbers and marsh mellows. Quarterly maintenance entails checking the torque "315 ft-Ibs" on vibrator
motor mount bolts.

Permanently sealed vibrators make lubrication systems totally unnecessary. The two vibratory motors
produce 80 dB.

3.0 SAFETY REGULATIONS (THIS IS VIMARC'S)

The vibrator motor shall be started only, if mounted for the defined use with the corresponding
machine and all protection devices.
Attention: In case of handling or work with the vibrator motor the centrifugal weights of the
vibrator motor may rotate unexpectedly. Risk of injury or bruising.
• Overall protection of persons is ensured only if the vibrator motors are closed completely
• The vibrator motor shall not be used without hood guards at the centrifugal weights.
• The electrical connection of the vibrator motor shall be fused appropriately.
• A damaged insulation of the connection cable and a missing covering of the terminal box
may result in danger to life due to electrical shock! Eliminate such defects immediately.
• Explosion proof vibrator motors only shall be used in areas subject to explosion hazard;
they are identified by the type of explosion protection indicated on the nameplate and the
Ex symbol On the housing of the vibrator motor. ~
• Carry out any maintenance or setting work at the vibrator motor only with the machine at
standstill. Prior to the beginning of such work make sure th t it is not possible to switch on
the vibrator motor by error or unauthorized persons.

Fluid Systems, Inc.

-
OM-5000B CD Fluid Systems, Inc
Houston TX 77032, USA

Wires going into vibrators should be secured with wire clamps and should not be allowed to rub against
anything. This may cause motors to short out and burn up.

• Mounting bolts holding the vibrators should be properly torqued to 315 foot pounds. If not properly
torqued, the vibrator motors will eventually crack the motor housings, thus shutting down that particular
cuttings drier. If the cuttings drier continues to operate with only one vibrator severe damages will occur
to the cuttings drier bed.

• Proper bolts, washers, and nuts should be used to mount the vibrators. Grade 8 SAE national fine
thread bolts, washers, and nuts are recommended. Different size bolts other than the ones
recommended should not be used. Vibrator damages may result.

Any weight covers that are damaged or show excessive rust should be replaced.

All counter weight and electrical covers, should be sealed correctly with either "0" rings where
necessary and silicone. If water enters the counter weight area it will leak into the bearings and cause
bearing problems or an electrical short. If this does occur, the replacing of bearings should be done in a
dust free facility by trained personnel such as at Fluid Systems, Inc. and not on location. This will insure
proper bearing installation and sealing.

To insure longer screen life as well as proper solids control, deck rubbers should be replaced when
damaged, worn out or removed.

If a motor does burn up or is damaged, that particular cuttings drier should be shut down immediately
and vibrator replaced. If it continues to operate with only one vibrator severe structural damage may
occur to the cuttings drier bed.

• Sand, prime and then paint any worn down, scratched, or damaged area to protect from rust.

4.0 TRANSPORT (THIS IS VIMARC'S)

In order to avoid risks of personal injury and damage to the vibrator motor, particular care must
be taken when moving or transporting the vibrator motor. In addition to the following notes,
follow the locally applicable safety regulations and accident prevention regulations
• When transporting the vibrator motor on a pallet, secure it against tilting.
• Proper use of transport and lifting tackles shall be ensured.
• Use a minimal of two cast-on suspension eyes to lift or suspend the
vibrator motor. Ropes, shackles, etc. should be fixed at these
suspension eyes only.
• The lifting tackles should be certified, undamaged and suitable for
transport and lifting.
• Do not mount an additional weight at the motor because the crane hook are designed only
for the dead weight of the motor.
• The lifting tackles to lift the vibrator motor should have a rated load-carrying capacity of
two times the weight of the vibrator motor for safety reasons.
• Motors may not be stacked, because the standard package used to ship motors cannot
support such weight.
• The vibrator motor should be placed down only on its feet.
• Report any transport damage to the manufacturer. Check the undamaged state of the
supporting areas and protective hood guards (end covers).
Do not suspend the vibrator motor at the hoods or centrifugal weights.
Excessive jerks or dropping down of the motor will result in damage to the bearings and reduce
the lifetime cycle of the motor. Do not use such a pre-damaged machine.

6.1 Location

The 5000B CDZ Linear Cuttings drier is designed for Nema 4 Non Explosion Proof locations.

The 5000B COX Linear Cuttings driers are designed for Nema 7 Explosion Proof locations.

6.2 Installation Instructions

Four lift points have been welded on the skid near all four corners of the machine. It is recommended to use
four hooks and spreader bars to lift the cuttings drier.

Note: To avoid "flipping" the

cuttings drier, do not lift
cuttings drier from cuttings
drier bed or with two hooks.

Remove shipping brackets from between cuttings drier bed and mud pan.

Make sure marsh mellow mounts are properly installed and cuttings drier bed is in fact free of any
obstructions. Check this by rocking it up and down manually.

Level the skid/machine in both directions.

It is recommended to install a valve to control the flow from the flow line.

Note: A "Y" or ''U'' type

manifold is best for slurry to
flow between two or more
cuttings driers. Clean out
holes should be installed.

A dump/by-pass line with a valve should be installed between cuttings driers incorporated into the manifold
or flow line. The valve will prevent any contaminants from entering the cuttings driers and contaminating the
Slurry.

Dump slides or chutes should be installed to collect all material going over the screen.

The skirt flap should be without any obstruction and should be cut if necessary to the shape of the
shale/dump slide.

Do not weld or bolt shale/dump slide or chutes to vibrating cuttings drier bed.

Bring electric service to starter mounted on the side of the [machine. (Three phase 230v or 460v 60 Hz is
required on standard machines.)

The vibrator is a dual wound device so modifications can be made by the user to fit the supply voltage. (see
Figure No. ???? for wiring instructions).

Water lines going to the mist sprayers should not rub against the marsh mellows or any part of the cuttings
drier to avoid any wearing out of either. A valve should be installed to control the flow of water to the mist
sprayer.

The weir height should be lower than the feed line, or slurry level to allow gravity to feed machine properly.

6.3 Screen Area

All Series 5000B CD Linear Cuttings driers have a total screening area of 33.73 sq.ft. There is an additional
3.5 sq ft "impact" area on the feed side of the bed to soften the blow and extending the life of the screen
panel.

7.0 ELECTRICAL
All electrical connections should be made in accordance with the Local and National Electrical Code by
qualified personnel.

Wire the motor to the voltage in the existing service line and install the proper heater elements or thermal
overload relays.

The service line should be equipped with a suitable and adequate main disconnecting device having
sufficient interrupting capacity to clear the maximum fault current capability of the immediate power supply
system, in the event of an electrical short not cleared by the branch circuit over devices if provided on the
Fluid Systems, Inc. Series 5000B CD Linear Cuttings drier.

Both vibrators have been set at the factory to rotate opposite of each other. This rotation is critical for
proper operation.

If the vibrator cables or a vibrator itself has been replaced, rotation is to be checked by a qualified
electrician. See Figure ???? below for proper vibrator rotations.

CAUTION: Vibrators must

rotate in opposite
directions for proper
performance and to avoid
any damage to the
machine.

The electrical connection should be made according to the connection diagram located under the terminal
box cover.

Inside the terminal box, the leads must take the shortest route possible from the connector to the terminal.

Outside the terminal box, the electric cable should be flexible and free of strain. It is important that the cable
not be tensioned to avoid breakage cause by vibration. This connection should be checked for extreme
movement with the vibrator in operation.

CAUTION: Do not
connect any vibrator
using rigid conduit.

8.0 OPERATION
8.1 Start-Up
WARNING: Before
starting cuttings drier,
have qualified electrician
check all connections,
wiring and overload
protections.

Be sure no one or nothing is leaning on cuttings drier bed or marshmellows.

Make sure all your screen panels are wedged in place and snug.

Make sure marshmallow mounts are installed properly and cuttings drier bed is in fact free of any
obstructions. Check this by rocking it up and down manually.

Start machine by pressing the "ON" switch on starter (optional)

Machine should run smooth with the absence of any "rattling" or loud banging noises. All Fluid Systems,
Inc. cuttings driers are extremely quiet. If rattling noises are heard, stop the machine and find and remove
the obstruction or the cause of the noise.

At start up the amperage may be as high as 8 times the name plate amperage. This high amperage draw
should drop to the amperage specified on the name plate as the vibrator reaches operating speed.

CAUTION: Maintained
high amperage will cause
overheating and vibrator
failure.
Fluid Systems, Inc. recommends an amperage check at start-up to avoid damage to the vibrator motor.

If you are not sure the model of the vibrator, check the name plate for the amperage or call Fluid Systems,
Inc.) If amperage reads high, check all mounting fasteners and tighten where required.

If amperage continuous to be high get a qualified electrician to check power source, power cables, switches
and motors.

8.2 Unbalanced Weights

There are two unbalanced weights attached to each of the two shaft ends of the vibrator motor. The weights
have been set for maximum operation efficiency and should not be changed.

8.3 VGS Option

VGS stands for "variable 'G' force cuttings drier system." The Fluid Systems design engineering group
utilized their field experience in the development of the variable "G" force series cuttings driers. All VGS
series units are equipped for optional "G" force settings, whether at 1200 rpm or 1800 rpm, depending on
client preference or process requirements. The variable "G" force options can range from 4.5 to 8.0 "G" on

8.4 Cuttings drier Bed Adjustments

Fluid Systems, Inc. recommends raising and lowering the front (dump side) of cuttings drier only for desired
angle.

To adjust cuttings drier bed, make sure cuttings drier is not running. (unless your cuttings drier is equipped
with the AWD Jacking Mechanism)

Figure 8.4A shows how to adjust cuttings drier bed angle with AWD56 (Adjustable While Drilling Jacking
Mechanism.

Figure 8.5A

8.5 Screen Panel Selection- MODIFY SELECTION OF SCREENS

Fluid Systems, Inc. has developed the most advanced design in screening technology to date. The unique
pretensioned screens are manufactured by Fluid Systems, Inc. in Belle Chasse, La.- Houston, TX. and at
other authorized factories. (call 832-467-9898 for a list of authorized distributors).

Each screen is individually tensioned at the factory and gauged. Other imitation screens do not have the
unique "bonding system" and quality Fluid Systems, Inc. has developed over the years.

Fluid Systems, Inc. uses stainless steel TENSILE bolting cloth. The advantages of using this particular
grade of cloth is that it allows a higher liquid thru-put than the conventional market grade cloth screens, thus
allowing fine screening, fluid recovery and optimum separation

FSI replacement panels are available from factory and other authorized distributors.

Fluid Systems, Inc. screen panels are available in:

Polyester: (special order)

Extra Capacity Synthetic"® (XS): These screen panels are used on special applications where volume
handling is not a factor and material in the slurry or the slurry itself is sticky. Not recommended for large
volume handling.

USAGE: low volume screening (ie: mud cleaners, small drilled holes, sizing) larger wire diameters than
standard MF screens with less open area.

Stainless steel: (in stock)

(A) Maximum Flow"® (MF): This is the screen most often used by Fluid Systems, Inc.'s customers. This
screen type is made of stainless steel bolting cloth.

USAGE: This screen works in a wide range of drilling and! or slurry conditions when higher thru-put
capabilities are not a factor and solids loading is minimal. I
(B) "Metal Back" (MB): Metal backing is a perforated plate sed to add support for screens in heavy solids
loading situations to increase screen panel life. This backi g can be added to most of our screen panels
Fluid Systems, Inc.
4 August, 2010

15
OM-5000B CD Fluid Systems, Inc
Houston TX 77032, USA

but used mainly on the 100 mesh and finer panels. Volume handling may be affected by minimizing the
unblocked screening area.

USAGE: If you are having premature screen panel failure or solids handling problems, change to this
screen style .
• This screen will give you a higher conveyance rate and longer life, but slightly less (10%) usable
screening area than the MF style screens.
• These screens' higher conveyance rate is due to the increased rigidity (additional support), overall flatness
of the screen panel and no glue lines to slow conveyance.

(C) "High Capacity Rectangular"Th1 (HCR):This screen panel is made up of a patented

RECTANGULAR weave stainless screen wirecloth. This screen panel will give higher conductance, more
fluid through-put than the standard MF, MB and the HCS screens. The rectangular weave also offers some
resistance to blinding.

USAGE: Volume Handling Problems. (ie: Inability to handle flow with standard screen panels due to pump
or flow rates exceeding conductance rating of standard screen panels, fluid conditions due to contaminates
or type of slurry fluid being used.

(D) "High Capacity Square"Th1 (HCS):This screen is made from a combination of Stainless Steel ultra fine
square weave wirecloth and a heavy mesh backing cloth.

USAGE: This screen is an altemative choice to the HCR panel.

• This screen provides more through-put than the MF and the MB panels, but at a more economical price,
especially in the finer mesh screens.
• The HCS screens have SUbstantially less life, poorer fines separation and poorer conductance than that of
the HCR panels.

(E) "Maximum Flow De-blinding" (MFD) This screen uses proprietary combination of screen meshes to
create a de-blinding screen panel.

USAGE: Sandy gumbo, sand where screen blinding is a problem

• this specialty screen has de-blinding characteristics in certain application.

Urethane (special order)

Urethane Screen Panels (US): used with extreme flows and abrasive materials are necessary in order to
achieve the screening application. Six plus month life expectancy of screen panels.

Wedge Wire (special order)

Wedge Wire Panels (WW): used with extreme flows.

The following values should be used in conjunction with the screen panel technical data sheet (in back of
this manual) to help you select the screen panels needed:

Conductance Value (Ct): the volume handling of the screen cloth. The higher the conductance value the
more through-put capabilities of the screen panel.

Cut Point (050): the average separation potential of the screen in microns.

Trans - Number: the relative volume handling capacity of the screen panel.

Conveyance: Speed at which material in slurry advances ,owards the discharge end of the screen.

9.0 MAINTENANCE

9.1 Vibrator Maintenance

The vibrators are designed for continuous duty.
The re-Iubrication schedule should be closely maintained to assure maximum vibrator life (see section
below).

Note: A preventive
maintenance program should
also include an inspection of
the mount and fasteners for
tightness.

Routinely check the mount plate welds for signs of fatigue. Early detection can prevent costly repairs.

All vibrators are repairable. They may be returned to Fluid Systems, Inc. for repair. Replacement bearings
are available however, field replacement is not recommended.

Each vibrator has been set before shipping. It is extremely important that both vibrators rotate in opposite
directions. Failure to check rotations after replacing a vibrator may cause severe damage to the cuttings
drier bed and poor performance.

9.2 Vibrator Lubrication

No field Lubrication is required. All bearings have been lubricated at factory.

When lubrication is necessary (see motor data sheet in back of this manual) the service should be
performed by factory specialists at Fluid Systems, Inc. Use of improper grease or procedure can greatly
reduce bearing life.

9.3 Replacing A Vibrator Motor

WARNING: Disconnect
power from the machine
before opening any
explosion proof or
electrical enclosure,

Remove pot head cover from vibrator.

Use the proper socket to remove power leads.

Mount identical motor supplied by Fluid Systems, Inc. with cable gland facing down.

Torque all six mounting bolts to 315 ft pounds.

Wire motor (see Figure and replace all covers and seal the before reconnecting power supply.

Replace weight covers and seal properly.

9.5 Proper Vibrator Rotation

It is extremely important that both vibrators rotate in opposite directions. The cuttings drier has been set at
the factory before shipping.

CAUTION: Failure1to
check rotations if1a motor
is replaced will terminate
any warranties anld may
cause severe darnaqe to

9.6 Wet Surroundings

All motors are factory sealed against moisture penetration.

In the event that a motor is replaced the following procedures should be followed:

Use sealant R.T.V. 100% Silicone Rubber, industrial grade (clear) available from the following: Dow
Corning No.732; General Electric RlV 108; Balkamp (Permatex) No. 765-1348; or equivalent.

All surfaces must be clean and dry

A standard caulking gun with 10 or 11 oz. cartridges is recommended.

Compound will set in about 10 minutes and cure in 24/36 hours.

All excess flash should be trimmed from sealed areas.

9.7 Deck Rubber Maintenance

It is very important to replace any worn or damaged deck rubber immediately to avoid any premature screen
panel failure.

Re-attach any deck rubber that may have come loose with the proper rivet (see deck rubber parts below)

CAUTION: Failure to
replace damaged or worn
l
deck rubbers will cause
premature screen panel
failure!
9.8 By-Pass Plunger (Optional) Maintenance
Hose off excess dirt on stainless steel stem and add grease to threads after each use. Make sure there is
no obstruction or excess mud in the machined seat of the b, -pass plunger.

9.9 Maintenance Schedule

BEFORE INITIAL STARTUP:

Fluid Systems, Inc.

4 August, 2010

19
OM-5000B CD Fluid Systems, Inc
Houston TX 77032, USA

Check for damaged counterweight covers

Have qualified electrician check that vibrators are wired correctly for voltage supplied and that the
proper heaters or thermal overload relays are installed.

Check torque on vibrator mounting bolts (315 ft Ibs)

Make sure nothing is leaning on cuttings drier bed or marsh mellow.

24 HOURS AFTER INITIAL STARTUP:

Check torque on each vibrator mounting bolt.

Check cables going from starter to vibrator for wear or cuts.

Cuttings drier should not have any metal to metal rattling sound. If one is detected, determine the
cause and tighten bolt(s) or repair it.

Unclog mist sprayers if necessary.

72 HOURS AFTER INITIAL STARTUP:

Check torque on each vibrator mounting bolt.

DAILY:

Check screen panels for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.

WEEKLY:

MONTHLY:

Check deck rubbers for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.

Check skirt flap for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.

Check torque on vibrator mounting bolts

SIX MONTHS:

Replace all deck rubbers

Spot paint any worn areas on equipment.

I
9.10 Preventive Maintenance I
• Wires going into vibrators should be secured with wire clamps and should not be allowed to rub against
anything. This may cause motors to short out and burn up.

Mounting bolts holding the vibrators should be properlt torqued to 315 foot pounds. If not properly
torqued, the vibrator motors will eventually crack the ~otor housings, thus shutting down that particular
cuttings drier If the cuttings drier continues to operat] with only one vibrator severe damages will occur
to the cuttings drier bed
Fluid Systems, Inc.
4 August, 2010

20
OM-5000B CD Fluid Systems, Inc
Houston TX 77032, USA

Proper bolts, washers, and nuts should be used to mount the vibrators.

Sand, prime and then paint any worn down, scratched, or damaged area to protect from rust.

10.7 Screen Panels

Each one of four pretensioned screen panels is held in place by two wedges, one on each side of the panel.

To change screen panels just knock the wedges loose and pull out the panel to be changed, hose off excess
dirt on deck rubbers then replace it with a new panel, and knock the wedges back into place.

10.8 Deck Rubbers I

All screen panels lay flat and on top of deck rubbers. These deck rubbers create a seal when screens are
wedged in place and are an integral part of the machine. Missing or worn deck rubbers will decrease screen
panel life substantially and should be replaced when wear is noticeable.

Deck rubbers are attached with aluminum or stainless hajmer rivets
