Course Title: MATHEMATICS

Course Code: APMM-104
Credit Hours: (3+0)
Recommended Books:

1. Elementary technical Mathematics with Calculus by James F. Connelly and Robert

A. Fratangelo.
2. University Mathematics by Dr. Bashir Ahmed and Dr. Moizuddin Khan.
3. Basic mathematics by Martin M. Zuckerman.
4. Mathematics with Applications for the Management life and social Sciences by
Howard Anton, Barnard Kolman and Bonnie.
5. Basic Mathematics by Virinia Lee.

Course Description:
The course reviews the concepts of basic mathematics; including Real Numbers,
Complex Numbers, Matrices, Algebraic Expressions and their Properties, Sequence and Series
including Mathematical Induction and Binomial Theorem.
Course Objectives:
The course is designed to increase the student's appreciation of the basic role played by
mathematics in modern technology. The students will be introduced to a field which may
become a source of interest in its own right and in turn will help students meet the requirements
of preparing for careers in fields other than mathematics.
Course Outcomes:

 Understand the foundations of mathematics

 Be able to perform basic computations in higher mathematics
 Be able to read and understand middle-level proofs
 Be able to write and understand basic proofs
 Develop and maintain problem-solving skills
 Use mathematical ideas to model real-world problems
 Be able to communicate mathematical ideas with others
 Have experience using technology to address mathematical ideas
