Job Responsibilities and Skills required: System Admin – Severs and Storage

 Participate in capacity plan discussion and recommend organization/industry standards


to size servers’ hardware during project planning phase.
 Deploy Linux servers on physical and virtual hardware, configure services, help
application team to deploy business sensitive codes, adjust users settings and access
rights etc as per project and business requirement.
 Monitor the infrastructure for resource utilization, alerts, performance etc.
 co-ordinate with Vendors for regular infrastructure health checks, ensure to implement
the recommended action plans and best practices to optimize the environment
 Provide first tier response, analysis and resolution planning for detected issues and
seeks appropriate resolution of issues.
 Knowledge of Virtualization and Storage
 Conduct timely and effective root cause analysis.
 Patch and security configuration compliance (includes virus detection for server and
client).
 General user administration.
 Active Directory maintenance.
 Managing and troubleshooting Converged Infrastructure Solutions ( VMWare).
 Install, Configure and manage VMware vSphere 5.x & 6.x Environments in VMWare.
 Installation of ESX Servers, vSphere Client and vCenter Server Installation of ESX
Servers, vSphere Client and vCenter Server
 Worked on IBM, Dell, HP, and UCS Hardware used for ESX configuration.
 Deploying VMs Through vRA.
 Performance Analysis and Resource augmentation through vROps.
 Hands on experience of EMCDELL Hybrid cloud(VMWare).
 Create the datastore for storing VMs and data
 Deploying virtual machine specified by Client.
 Managing virtual machine library.
 Present / Assign LUN to ESXi host (Actually a storage admin task)
 Check the health of all Hosts and VM objects in vCenter. Are there any active alarms in
vCenter? Set up any alarms in the first place. I have done the alarms automatically
trigger notification or any type of incident tracking mechanism.
 Managing and configuring the Virtual Networking.
 Managing DELL EMC Core Infrastructure and Backup Solutions Teams.
 Reporting team member’s performance to higher level management.
 Creating SOWs (Statements of Work) and SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and
Project Schedules for new projects.
 Responsible for maintaining current partnerships, and creating new ones with multiple IT
vendors.
 Following up on daily team tasks, for open service requests and any technical issues
reported by our customers.
 Monitoring of SAN and storage performance data for the optimization of the
environment.
 Provide SAN and DELL storage management experience to augment current SAN and
storage management <Customer> staff
 Generate regular operational performance reports using Customer provided DELL SAN
management tools.
 Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews (when applicable).
 Participate in the planning, approval, and implementation of approved Change
Management requests.
 Involvement with Incident and Problem Management activities
 Review the SAN and storage Logs periodically.
 PowerPath monitoring and health check periodically (If applicable).
 TimeFinder Operations monitoring and logs checking periodically (If applicable).
 SRDF Operations monitoring and logs checking periodically (If applicable).
 Monitor the storage utilization and assignment to the customer servers environment.
 Reviewing the SAN configuration and provide the customer with a detailed SAN layout.
 Compare the current SAN layout with DELL best practices and suggest for the required
modifications to match the DELL best practices.
 Reviewing the Storage configuration and provide the customer with a detailed Storage
layout.
 SAN storage provisioning for existing servers to existing storage at the time of signing
this PSOW.
