Machine learning is a subfield of AI that enables computers to learn from data rather than being explicitly programmed. It can be used to solve problems like image and speech recognition, and predictive analytics. The history of machine learning began in the 1950s with research on neural networks. In the 1980s-1990s, more sophisticated machine learning algorithms were developed to handle complex data sets. Machine learning has advanced rapidly but also faces challenges like potential discrimination and privacy issues that need addressing. INTRODUCTION

Machine learning is a subfield of AI that enable computers to learn

from data, instead of telling a computer what to do, we can give it
examples of what we want it to learn and let it figure out how to do it
on its own.

One of the key benefits is that it improves over time from new
information given every day.

It can be used to solve a wide range of problems, from image and

speech recognition to predictive analytics and recommendation
systems.
BACKGROUND
The history of machine learning begins in the middle of the 20th
century Walter Pitts and Warren McCulloch published a paper
that attempted to mathematically map human thinking and
decision making with neuronal networks.

A few years later, Frank Rosenblatt combined the neural

network model with Samuel's machine learning efforts and
created an image recognition machine called Perceptron.

However, although it showed promise, it was not capable of

recognizing many visual patterns. After this it was many years
before neural network and machine learning research made an
impact again, as it did not resurface until the 1990s.
BACKGROUND
In the 1980s and 1990s, researchers began to focus on developing more sophisticated machine
learning algorithms to handle more complex data sets and solve more challenging problems.

In the present machine learning is a necessary discipline for all types of business and and
universities. The combination of the development of machine learning algorithms with neural
network models is helping computer systems to improve their performance.

In addition to this, the trace that we leave with the use of applications and web browsing, help
us to improve these tools.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Machine learning has advanced rapidly with lots the benefits, but there are also
challenges as discrimination or bias in decision making that need to be addressed.
For example, machine learning algorithms can learn from historical data that reflect
biases, which can lead to unfair and discriminatory decisions.

In addition, privacy and security of data used in training machine learning can
represent a violation to people's privacy and security of their personal information.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Provide a comprehensive overview of machine learning using AI, its principles,

techniques, and algorithms involved, showing how machine is used to transform
industries, changing problem-solving approaches and exploring different types of
machine learning, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, and analyze their
applications in various domains, such as image recognition, natural language
processing, and predictive analytics, knowing its benefits, limitations and its potential
to improve decision-making, increase efficiency, and reduce costs, as well as the
ethical considerations and potential biases associated with these technologies.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
-Understanding the meaning of machine learning and its fundamental
concepts.
-Exploring the applications of machine learning nowdays.
-Comprehend the main machine learning algorithms and why are they
important.
-Understading the concept of supervised learning and how it differs from
unsupervised learning.
-Exploring strenghts and weaknesses of each machine learning method.
-Investigating the principles of unsupervised learning and its applications.
-Investigating the principles of supervised learning and its applications.
-Exploring the moral an ethical problems machine learning implementation
is bringing us this days.
-Understanding what is deep and non deep machine learning, and their
differences.
DEVELOPMENT
Machine learning as a tool for AI its a very important part of the development of future
tecnologies that could help us on a lot of different aspects of life, as such, this
tecnology is subjected to principles designed to make the better use of this tecnology,
this principles include :
Assesing for harmful or negative bias
Trust and transparency
Being acountable
Social benefit
Privacy and security
DEVELOPMENT
The main algorithms used in machine learning are supervised and unsupervised
learning.

Supervided learning takes a known set of input and output to the data and generate
predictions in response to new data. Uses classification and regression techniques to
develop machine learning models.

Classification its used for easily taggable or categorized data, like spam or normal
emails, meanwhile regression its used to predict continuous responses, like prices of
financial assets

DEVELOPMENT
Unsupervised learning finds hidden patterns in data. It is used to draw inferences from
datasets consisting of input data without labeled responses.

Clustering is the most common unsupervised learning technique used in gene sequence
analysis, market research, and object recognition.

CONCLUSION
It is very clear that we still have a lot to learn about AI, how it works and how to use it
consciously and safely.

However, it is evident that it is worth learning how to do it, since the multiple benefits,
facilitation of our activities, such as automation of various processes, faster execution
of investigations, better gaming experience, and much more, the possibilities are
endless.
