PLAYOUT QUICKSTART MANUAL
This manual aims to get you up and running with your Playout in a few simple steps, for more in-depth manuals we
refer you to our support portal. Please note that a Playout requires a certain number of ports to be opened when it
doesn’t have a direct internet connection.
1. LINKMATRIX
Every Playout comes with a Linkmatrix account which enables you to manage all your WMTs and Playouts as well
as stream your content to social media platforms such as Facebook and Youtube. On the left-hand side you can see
all your WMTs (Clients) and all your Playouts (Decoders) are located on the right-hand side. To connect a client to a
decoder simply drag and drop it on top of a decoder.
2. CONNECTIONS
An overview of all relevant connections, connectors not mentioned are not used.
Connect the unit using the ‘Internet ETH port’ to your LAN and check the front panel display for the unit’s IP
address. To change the default configuration (DHCP) to a Static configuration, press the OK button once, you
should now see a ‘>’ icon behind ‘Network Config’;
Now use the arrow buttons to change DHCP to Static and press OK to confirm. The ‘>’ icon will now jump to the
first digit of the IP address, use the arrow buttons to change its value and press OK. Repeat this for every digit until
IP Address, Mask and GW (Gateway) are set correctly.
When the last digit of the GW has been set a new option appears at the bottom to save this configuration;
3. ENABLE LINKMATRIX
Next, we enable Linkmatrix on the unit. Without Linkmatrix, every unit needs to be manually connected to the
Playout. For more information, we refer you to the Playout manual.
To enable Linkmatrix, open a web-browser and go to the IP address you set in Step 2. Once there, choose Playout.
NOTE: When asked for a password, leave the username empty and use pokon as password
Next, go to Settings -> Linkmatrix and check if MVP Linkmatrix is selected:
4. LINKMATRIX
Login to the Linkmatrix (URL below) and your new Playout should appear under the ‘Decoders’ section. Go to the
Settings tab and select your Playout under the Playout drop-down menu. Now enter the external and internal IP
addresses of the unit.
Once this has been done, go back to Live & Connect tab and drag and drop a client onto a Playout decoder to start
streaming.
