A. INTRODUCTION
- As everyone knows, for everything we do today, no matter how small or big, we
always need good communication skills along with problem-solving and the best way of
thinking to let people Others can see my breakthrough.
- In this report, I will explain to everyone the definition and importance of
communication skills, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking skills. Along with that
is how we improved our skills and some examples that our team created to make the
lesson easier to understand. Finally, give final comments on the article.
3
B. DEMONSTRATE, USING DIFFERENT
COMMUNICATION STYLES AND FORMAT, THAT YOU
CAN EFFECTIVELY DESIGN AND DELIVER A
TRAINING EVENT FOR A GIVEN TARGET AUDIENCE
(P1).
I. Definition and the importance of communication
skill.
- Communication is a daily activity that takes place continuously
anytime, anywhere, acting as a bridge between the speaker and the listener.
Communication skills are the ability to use the means of spoken language or body
language to express an individual's thoughts, opinions, and feelings in a clear and
convincing manner; while promoting two-way communication.
- It includes the ability to convey messages, listen, give and receive
feedback between the communicator (speaker) and the object of communication
(listener) to achieve a certain communication purpose.
- Forms of communication: face-to-face communication;
communication by phone; email or social media;…
- Jobs that use a lot of communication skills can be mentioned as
interpreters, telesales staff, customer care staff...

4
- Communication is a necessary and
worthwhile skill for us to practice. When you
have good communication skills, you will be
more active in the conversation and help the
other person feel cared about and respected.
- In life or work, if you have good
communication skills, all relationships with
friends and colleagues become closer. Along
with that, promotion opportunities are also
more open to people with good
communication skills. Especially for business
people who always need a good
communication skill to expand customer and
partner relationships.

II. Verbal communication

- The sharing of information between individuals by using speech.
Individuals working within a business need to effectively use verbal
communication that employs readily understood spoken words, as well as ensuring
that the enunciation, stress and tone of voice with which the words are expressed is
appropriate.

5
III. Non-verbal communication
- Behavior and elements of speech aside from the words themselves
that transmit meaning. Non-verbal communication includes pitch, speed, tone and
volume of voice, gestures and facial expressions, body posture, stance, and proximity to
the listener, eye movements and contact, and dress and appearance. Research suggests
that only 5 percent effect is produced by the spoken word, 45 percent by the tone,
inflexion, and other elements of voice, and 50 percent by body language, movements,
eye contact, etc.

6
Example
IV. Communication in my group
- The communication in my team is quite good right now, although sometimes there are
still contradictions or not exceeding the capacity of a group, but my team is still trying
their best to do the best thing. In my group I volunteered myself more to assist in
many more areas of the group. There were a few disagreements within the group
I dealt with it by intervening with a sense of humour. Then everyone calmed
down and said thank for understanding me, I really appreciate it.
- To assist in the success of the team I would recognize the differences of others in
relation to their ideas and suggestions and be prepared to deal with disagreements
between members. I have been late for meeting and handing up scripts sometimes
so I will be considerate and show up for meeting on time. I will develop my time
management skills.

C. DEMONSTRATE THAT YOU HAVE USED EFFECTIVE

TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS IN PLANNING AN EVENT
(P2).
I. Definition and the importance of time management
skill.
- Time management is the process of planning and organizing time
for each specific activity, in detail step by step until all goals are accomplished. Because
time is limited, the better time management skills you have, the more
7
effective your time will be. The effectiveness of time management is judged on the
results of the work done, not on how quickly or slowly it is completed.

- This process includes 4 main steps:

+) List and prioritize tasks by day, week and month based on goals and direction of work
and life.
+) Measure and estimate the time it takes to complete the set tasks
+) Make a detailed plan, determine the order of priority to work each day.
+) Implement and stick to the set plan.

D. DEMONSTRATE THE USE OF DIFFERENT
PROBLEM-SOLVING TECHNIQUES IN THE DESIGN
AND DELIVERY OF AN EVENT (P3).
I. Definition and the importance of problem-solving
skill
- Problem-solving skills are one of the skills that are very necessary
for learning and working because life is a series of problems that require us to solve
without any problem like the other and there is no formula. The common way to solve
all problems. It is important that we equip ourselves with the necessary equipment
so that when a problem arises, we can use our available skills to solve that problem in
the most effective way.

18
II. Some techniques and tools for the problem solving

*5WHYS
- 5 Whys is an iterative questioning technique used to uncover the cause-
and-effect relationship underlying a particular problem. The main goal of this
technique is to identify the root cause of the defect or problem by repeating the question
"Why?" Each answer forms the basis for the next question. The "5" in the name derives
from an observational outcome of the number of iterations required to solve the
problem.
- Sakichi Toyoda, one of the fathers of the Japanese industrial
revolution, developed this technique in the 1930s. He was an industrialist,
inventor and founder of Toyota Industries.

19
*5W1H
- 5W1H stands for 5 words: Who, When, What, Where, Why, How.
5W1H is one of the important thinking rules in building Content Marketing ofeach
individual and organization before researching and planning a certain project/plan.
5W1H helps you have an overview, multi-dimensionality to create an effective
marketing campaign.

20
- Understanding what 5W1H is and building a marketing plan
according to 5W1H rules will help you identify important goals such as:
+) Make a specific plan with an overview in many aspects,
helping you to see the problem more accurately and objectively.
+) With 5W1H thinking, you will see the weak points that need to be
corrected, recognize the existing problems that need to be solved, and build and answer as
many questions as possible according to the 5W1H rule. clear.
+) There is no lack of intention to implement the problem
when encountering a deadlock.
+) Foreseeing serious consequences because 5W1H has given you an
objective and comprehensive view from preparation and ideation.
* Pareto
21
- The Pareto Principle, also known as the 80/20 Principle, is named after the
respected economist Vilfredo Pareto. The principle states that 80% of the effects come
from 20% of the causes, the relationship between inputs and outputs is unequal. At
its core, the 80-20 rule emphasizes identifying the best things about an event and using
them effectively to create maximum value.
- Pareto chart plays an important role in market analysis, it supports:
+Businesses/individuals can classify what is important to
prioritize and which can be solved later. This supports the effective assessment of work
progress, promoting enterprises to increase production.
+Optimize efficiency, productivity and possible risks.
+) Accurately identify the target, effective, save time and money.
+)Supporting businesses with sustainable development orientation.
- Not all cases can be solved using Pareto charts. This chart should only be
used in the case of a multifactor event. Through the analysis, you will understand
which are the positive effects that need to be handled urgently.

22
III. Problems and solutions in the event and teamwork
*5WHYS
-Why? The guests did not receive enough invitations to participate because
The event organizer did not deliver enough
Why? The delivery of the event is not enough ? because due to the lack
of customer information
Why? Missing customer information? because Not careful by the staff in
charge of reviewing the information
Why? Employees are not careful because the management
department is not careful
Why? The management is not close enough? because there are no
appropriate laws and regulations for the company
=> Research carefully and choose a more reasonable management
and organization
-Why does forming a team fail? because not enough people participated
Why not enough participants? Because the group has no specific purpose
Why doesn't the group have a specific purpose? Because the creator
of the group has no content to create a group
Why is there no group content yet? Because there is no specific goal
to form a group
Why is there no specific goal? Because the leader didn't give a reason
to join the group
=>Need a new team leader, set goals for group formation and need a
specific goal for the group to work.
-Many people don't want to participate
People don't like dining venues
They are afraid that the food there is not hygienic.
That place is little known so people don't trust
The weak organizers found a place to eat for everyone to feel secure
=>It is necessary for the organizers to be responsible and learn more
about the place that will take people to eat and drink
-Why are people searching for root cause analysis on the internet?
=>Because there is no database to search in on their computer and the boss
wants training answers now.
-Why was the wrong leg was amputated?
The Doctor could not see the marking and thought it was the
wrong leg that was marked.
Why?
The patient gave consent the night before the surgery to a registrar
who does not perform the surgery and was not familiar with the
patient. They marked the leg a washable marking in the wrong
place.
Why?
They didn’t know about using a waterproof marking tool and
were unaware of how the marking was to be completed.
Why?
They were new and the department didn’t have a formal
induction process for new registrars.
Why?
No one ever said they should have an induction process.
=> Find an internationally certified doctor and re-operate

*5W1H
What? The main problem of the group is low productivity Why? The
whole team has not done their best
Where? Team awareness
When? Every time work in a group

23
Who? All members of the team
How? Rebuild rules and regulations for the team.
Contribute and share ideas to come up with the best way to work as a
team.

E. DEMONSTRATE THAT CRITICAL REASONING HAS

BEEN APPLIED TO A GIVEN SOLUTION (P4)
I. Definition and the importance of critical reasoning
- Critical Thinking, refers to the ability to think clearly and rationally
about the beliefs you believe or what you are doing. It includes the ability to use
independent thinking and reflective thinking.

- Critical thinkers are often able to:

+)Understand the logical coherence between points of view.
+)Identify, develop, and evaluate arguments.
+)Find common inconsistencies and errors in reasoning.
+)Systematic problem solving.
+)Identify the relevance and importance of ideas.
+)Consider reasoning and correctness in the opinion and
beliefs of others.
24
- Good critical thinkers are able to infer consequences from what they know
and use information to solve problems, and seek relevant sources of information to
increase their understanding of the problem. that subject.
- How to improve:
+) Practice quick thinking skills
+) Actively cultivate knowledge for yourself
+) Have an objective vision
+) Get in the habit of asking questions
+) Use opinion mapping
II. Apply to given solution
- As far as I can see, my current solution proposed does not match the
solutions I gave in P3. Because it's not fair and the logic isn't convincing for
everything when we work as a team. If next time there are other difficulties that
appear that we don't think of, we can know and suggest better solutions for the next
time so that the team can be more and more perfect. To improve the group for the
next time, we will take the initiative to have small meetings and solve problems in
the most convincing way. Reasonable measures and to well complete the assigned
tasks.

F. CONCLUSION
- This report showed that i can understand and apply what i learned in planning
an event. Although there are some limitations as i still do not have practical experience.
But i have met the basic requirements of planning an event. Although there have been
some undesirable situations, but basically achieved the original goal and received love
from the young people. This report also demonstrates the team’s determination and
efforts. Through this event. we have experience in teamwork skills such as team conflict
handing and job sharing. Next is the communication skills to share ideas clearly and
logically are also very clear because it helps them. I understand each other’s opinions.
Time management skills for effective work scheduling and time based on urgency are
essential skills. We also learned more event planning skills to plan and design an effective
event. In addition, it also helps each member to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of
each member to find ways to overcome their own weaknesses.
