Include the following information in narrative format in this report (you can use abbreviated
versions of these headings for your write-up):
Due to the summer session of the class, implementation is not possible due to learners being on
summer vacation and not in school. Therefore, this will be a Formative Evaluation of Instruction
by Expert Review. Three certified elementary age educators will review, evaluate, and provide
observations and feedback on the instructional plan / lesson. This is due to the inability to teach
the lesson/modules to actual learners since we are on summer break. These three educators have
experience with both K-5 and K-12 learners, specifically in the area of music education.
The purpose of collecting the evaluation data is to ensure that the lesson / modules will meet the
need to the client and most importantly, the student learners. Predicting the benefit, participation,
and skills & knowledge gained by the student learners via the lesson is important to developing
the best possible lesson design. The type of data collected was evaluation of instruction by three
expert reviewers who provided their own feedback on the lesson based on the following:
1) to what degree you think the learners would react favorably to the lesson/ learning?
2) to what degree you think the learners would acquire the intended content/knowledge/ skills /
etc.... based on participation?
3) to what degree the learners would apply what they learned in future lessons, skills, etc..?
4) to what degree you think the targeted outcomes would occur by participation in lesson?
The three reviewers also provided general feedback about the lesson / modules / design

1.Students would enjoy the lesson based on variety of activity centered around familiar material
and activities, especially to start with
2. Students would acquire the intended content and skills due to the repetition and variety of
activities within the lesson and instruction
3. Due to music being a spiral curriculum, the students would easily take and transfer these skills
to further development via more complicated lessons
4. The students would fully achieve the objectives and target outcomes through the varied levels
and responsibilities with the participation in the lesson/modules
Additional Comments: Website is laid out well, perhaps more video / infographics for the
students as well as some student led activities
1. I think the students would really enjoy the lessons and activities that are a part of the lessons.
Keeping young students moving (both literally and figuratively) in lessons is imperative.
2. The lessons are structured in a way that will result in the students entirely gaining the skills
needed. There is variety in the lesson, but also structure and activates / movements that the
students are familiar with.
3. Assuming that students will continue using and enhancing their solfege and Orff skills, the
transfer and building of the skills to future lessons (not only this year but in the long term future)
will occur.
4. The targeted outcomes would and will only occur with full participation.
Additional Comments: Maybe use different songs in the module 2, spread lesson/objectives out
into more modules vs. 2.
1. High degree of satisifcation by students due to continious movement and singing and varied
use of body percussion, instruments, etc…
2. They should because all of the content ; projected rate of high participation should transfer
to acceptable knowledge of standards based content.
3. High degree of application based on the fact that all content in both modules are
foundational and used in more advanced activities. Scaffolding model – spiral curriculum.
4. High degree particularly based on whole group instruction and modeling.
Additional Comments: Lessons and modules are a little long, split them into more individual
lessons and modules for the Kindergarten age learner

3. Feedback Plan
I’m happy with the design of the lesson, content, and modules. Getting the positive feedback and
evaluation from the content / subject area experts is terrific and I’m glad that they enjoy the
lesson and find their learners would as well. Having not ever taught this age group, I was
thinking the modules were a little long and based on the feedback, I would shorten the modules
and spread the content & activities out over 5 or 6 lessons rather than the 2 I have it in currently.
Therefore, I would change some of the songs and deliverables in the later modules to “mix it up”
some for the students. Otherwise, I would keep the content and website as is and then make
adjustments upon the evaluation of the actual implementation.
