CONDITIONAL SENTENCES

1. If + S + Vo/s/es …, S + will/ can/ may + Vo …


(Chỉ điều kiện có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại, hoặc tương lai)
2. If + S + V2/ed …, S + would/ could/ might + Vo …
(Chỉ điều kiện KHÔNG thể xảy ra ở hiện tại, hoặc tương lai)
3. If + S + had V3/ed …, S + would/ could/ might have + V3/ed …
(Chỉ điều kiện KHÔNG thể xảy ra trong quá khứ, thể hiện sự tiếc nuối)
4. If2 + If3
If I had gone to bed early last night, I wouldn’t be tired now.
Notes: Bài tập viết lại câu với If clauses
1. Vo …. or + S + will/ won’t + Vo => If1
Ex: Study hard or you will fail in the exam.
=> If you don’t study hard, you will fail in the exam.
2. Tình huống ở thì hiện tại đơn (do/ does/ Vo/s/es) => If2
Ex: I don’t have enough money, so I can’t buy a new phone.
=> If had enough money, I could buy a new phone.
