Packages holidays, popularly known as a tour package or tour in the travel and tourism industry
refer to a package tour escorted or not escorted by the tourist guide. Tour package, it means a pre-
arrangement, prepaid trip that combines two or more travel components like airfare, airport
transfer, accommodation, and other services.
City packs are normally packaged by transportation companies. These are mainly inclusive
tour packages.
Cruises are inclusive escorted tour packages operated by cruise line companies.
European land tours are packaged and operated by inbound tour operators. These are
normally escorted land arrangement tour packages.
Pilgrimages in the Philippines are usually packaged by travel agents (who are acting as tour
operators) for parish councils or other religious organizations.
Beach holidays are the most common packages for inbound tour operators, as the
Philippines are well-known as beach destination.
City Parks for inbound traffic are normal package by tour operators for ad-hoc business.
M.I.C.E. refers to Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions in the Philippines for
foreign traffic.

Incentives travel is similar to M.I.C.E traffic, except that it is less extensive in terms of
inclusions.
National conventions are likewise similar to M.I.C.E traffic
Conferences are a smaller version of conventions, where participation is limited.
Seminars/workshops small company meetings, often off-site. These are mainly inclusive tour
packages.
Festivals are very common tour packages that inclusive escorted.

1. Transportation – (by air, sea, or land) to and from a point of origin to a destination or destinations
and back to the point origin.

• Mini – suite or junior Suite: A single room with a bed and setting area. Sometimes the sleeping
area is in a bedroom separate from the parlor or living room.
• Studio: A room with a studio bed – a couch that can be converted into a bed. May also have an
additional bed.
• Single: A room assigned to one person. May have one or more beds.
• Double: A room assigned to two people. May have one or more beds.
3. Meals – refers to the number of meals per day included in the package, whether served in the
place of lodging or outside in the restaurant.

4. Entertainment – a form of activities that take away people's stress basically come from work or
school and give them properly amusement to relax .

6. Tour Guide – A person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the
cultural and natural heritage of an area which person normally possesses an area – specific
qualification usually issued and / or organized by the appropriate authority.
• Accompany visitor on tours within a specific country, region, area, city or site.
• They provide special information on matters relating to such things as history, archaeology,
monuments and works of art, the environment, culture, natural and built attraction, places of
interest and any general matter of interest in the visitor.
• They are responsible for the group of people they escort. They make sure no one will separate
from the group.
• They also watch the clients to make sure they follow tour rules. Example, In museum, they make
sure visitors do not touch the paintings.
• On the tour, they tell visitors about the sites they are seeing. They answer visitor questions and
recommend additional sites for them see.
• Depending on the tour, guides may drive buses to transport clients around town or to new sites.
1. Adventure Guide - Includes rafting, bicycle, tours, bush walking or mountaineering. Guides are
responsible for the safety of customers, especially when rafting, so related experience is usually
required for guide customers. Guide applicant should get first aid.
2. Sightseeing Guide - Drive motor vehicles to transport sightseers. Using either a public address
system or megaphone, they describe points of interest along tour routes.
4. Bi- lingual Guides - Offer interpretation of language as well as guiding skills. These guides often
guide visitors from other countries. Thus speaking a foreign language can be an advantage.
• Provide on a contractual basis in a professional manner tour guiding services to local and overseas
clientele.
• Have relevant information on and be fully conversant with the particulars of Tour being offered.
• Providing general assistance to the Senior Tour Guide and assist in carrying out certain
Administrative task relevant to effectively carrying out tour guiding duties.
• Receive training and be able to give basic first aid in case of minor external injuries sustained by
tour participants.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of a library or information to ensure a ready store
of relevant research material on touring guiding services, attractions.
