HUGO
The film Hugo is set in Paris in the 1900s and tells the story of a boy who lives in a
train station. He spends his time fixing clocks, avoiding the station manager and his
terrifying dog, and trying to repair a broken 'automaton' which his father gave him
before he died. When he meets a rich young girl who mysteriously holds the key to
his father's machine, the two of them get caught up in a gripping adventure.
It's a film that makes you cry but is also absolutely hilarious in places. I was totally
blown away by the visual images, especially the scenes of the station and the Parisian
streets, and I loved the way the 3D special effects pulled you into the magical world.
It was definitely the best use of 3D I've ever seen. Although it could have been a little
shorter, in general, I thought it was absolutely brilliant.
I strongly recommend it to people of all ages.
