DIAGLOGUE
MODERATOR
Assalamualaikum and a very good day I wish to all
of you. Welcome to our forum today. First of all, I
would like to thank to Madam and fellow
friends. Our issue for today is “ Does social media
do more harm than good ?”
MODERATOR
Thank you Miss Balqis. From your perspective, you
think that cyberbullying is an act of cowardice
where the bully oppresses others secretly, right ?
Okay,
MODERATOR
Thank you Miss Issey. Yes we must always
be careful of what we
share online on social media and not be toxic to
social media , that was a great point Miss Issey.
Now we pass to Panel 3 Miss Kautsar to talk
about body shaming.
them in person.
MODERATOR
Thank you Miss Suzy, yes from social media we
can build relationships and connections with
others. Right Miss Risya ? As businesswoman,
we know that social media is the best helpful to
the business. Now we want to hear about your
opinion.
PANEL 5: Risya
(Businesswoman) As a businesswoman, I do believe
Advantage: Serve as social media has its own pros beside
business platform cons. Social media is really helpful for
people who own a business. The
reason is that people can use social
media to interact with their consumers
and learn what others are saying about
their business. According to Wong
Adrian, which officially published on
22nd october 2021, he stated thatsocial
media can also be used for advertising,
promotional freebies, and mobile
applications. Social media may assist a
business recruit clients, gather
feedback from customers, and increase
customer loyalty. Nowadays, social
media has grown from ineffectual sites
to more convenient and practical
websites, such as Facebook, Twitter,
and Instagram. Also, based on an
article written by Shujata, In Business
and Management title “Role of Social
Media” stated that social media may
also be utilised to do market research
without having to spend a lot of money.
This will aid in identifying the target
audience and, as a result, in improving
money through improved interactions.
Plus, with the current Covid-19
pandemic, the role of social media to
business platforms have become more
PANEL 2: Issey
I absolutely agree with Balqis. What happens in the
online world is a reflection of society as a whole.
Scams have been around for a long time and come
in a variety of forms, and one is through social
media. Social media simply makes the scam work
easier because a scammer can now reach millions
rather than hundreds. To give you an idea, from a
business perspective, Covid-19's transition toward
online shopping has resulted in a dramatic increase
in online purchase scams. Scams on social media are
no longer limited to platforms like Instagram and
Meta; they can also be found on Whatsapp.
Scammers frequently use promotional deals that
appear to be too good to be true.
PANEL 3: Kautsar
Me too, i agree with both of them. Joy buyer was
also happened in business and one of the social
media scam in business life. Joy buyer is an
online selling jargon that means a buyer who
enthusiastically shows interest on an item, but
will not actually buy it. Its always happened to
business online at shopee. It will give the fake
hope to the buyer.
MODERATOR
Thank You Miss Balqis , Issey and Kautsar .
Yes, that's true.
Miss Risya, from the time you start your business
till now, we believe that you
PANEL 5: Risya
Yes, I have to agree that scam has managed to grow
to be a major problem in today's world. Many people
believe that scam is becoming the new norm in
today's society. And I also have my own experience
in business scam. We were tricked by an email
hacking scam. The scammers appear to have hacked
our supplier's email and informed us of a change in
full bank account information. The scammers sent
us fake invoices with updated bank information, as
well as the previous email trail to and from the
supplier. Everything was a perfect copy of a real
version of the invoices we were used to so we didn't
even notice the difference.
We sent them RM20,000 under the mistaken belief
that it was real, but the actual supplier never
received it. Despite the fact that the supplier's email
address was correct, they stated that they had not
received our response. The scammers appear to have
a strategy of hiding our response from the supplier.
We weren't aware of it until our supplier called to
complain about not receiving payment.
We were upset by the incident. Our employees were
also affected because the scams case forced us to do
a reduction in profits and a reduction in staff
bonuses. And needing to explain what had happened
to the rest of the workforce was a terribly
challenging experience for me.
PANEL 4: Suzy
Agree with Risya
MODERATOR
After we heard the topic from our panelist today,
we can conclude that social media does more harm
than good. Everyone please not be one of the
‘keyboard warrior’ and please if you are one of the
victim, please report your situation. Time very
jealous with us, last words from me, Your
Moderator for today I would like to thank to
Madam and fellow friends also all our panelist .
Thank You for your attention, Assalamualaikum.

PANEL 3: Kautsar (Counsellor) Thank you Miss Moderators, for inviting me today.
Disadvantage: Body Shaming
As we know, nowadays Body shaming is one of the
biggest problems in today’s generation . Defined by
Cambridge Distionary, the meaning of body
shaming is the practice of making critical,
potentially humiliating comments about a person’s
body, size or weight. It is obvious that all of us come
in different shapes and sizes but society and the
media puts a lot of pressure on us with beauty
stereotypes and standards to deem some as healthy
and some not.

PANEL 4: Suzy
I agreed with what risya mentioned earlier. Scams
on the internet are always evolving and can take on
many forms. When it comes to frauds, scammers
use the same tactics across the board, regardless of
the type of victim they're targeting. Knowing how
scammers operate and common business scams
might help a company avoid falling victim to one of
these schemes.
