Paul : Yes, it is, isn’t it? I hear the burgers are very good here.
Clare : Hmm. The salads look good too. Oh, it’s difficult to decide. Yes the chicken
salad, I think.
Waitress : Would you like to order now?

Emily : How was your weekend?


Tim : Terrible. I was ill all weekend.
Emily : Oh, dear. What was wrong?
Tim : I had a really bad cold.
Emily : What a shame. Are you OK now?
Tim : Yes, much better, thanks. And how was your weekend?
Emily : It was OK. I stayed at home on Saturday.
Tim : Oh, right. What did you do?
Emily : I did the washing, checked my emails, and watched TV. You know, the usual. And
then on Sunday, I went to the cinema.
Tim : Oh, nice. What did you see?
Emily : It was called A Day in the Life.
Tim : Oh, yes, What was it like?
Emily : I was great. I really enjoyed it.
Tim : Yeah, I’d like to see that. Oh, we’re late for the meeting. Let’s go!

RACHEL : I’m very well, thanks. I went away for the weekend to Spain !

RACHEL : We stayed with some friends from university.

the house.

Paul : And then he used the number of the first six envelops that the dog found. And
now he’s a millionaire!

Alison : I’d like to go to the beach.
Josh : Oh, no. Not the beach again. We went to the beach last weekend.
Wayne : He’s right. I’d rather go somewhere different.
Alison : Well, would you like to go to London?
Wayne : Yes, that’s a good idea.
Alison : We can spend the day at Regent’s Park. It’s really beautiful and there’s lots to do
there.
Wayne : That’s sounds good. Do you want to do that, Josh?
Josh : Do what, Dad?
Wayne : Do you want to go to Regent’s Park?
Josh : Not really. I’d rather stay at home?
Alison : But Regent’s Park is a great place to visit. You can go on boat rides and there’s a
really good open air theater.
Josh : Hmm. Theater. That’s really interesting. Anyway, what about Daisy? Why aren’t
you asking her?
Wayne : You know you sister works at the restaurant every Saturday.
Josh : Lucky her.
Wayne : OK. So where do you want to go?
Josh : I want to go to Longleat.
Wayne : Oh, I don’t think so, it’s a long way.
Josh : But some friends from school went there last week. And there’s a safari park
where you drive around and look at all the lions and tigers and monkeys from your
car.
Alison : That sounds quite dangerous.
Josh : It isn’t if you don’t open the windows!
Wayne : And you can see animals in Regent’s park. That’s where London zoo is!

on your left.
