REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

FOREIGN LITERATURE

According to Uka, Emmanuel (2019) the Web Based Students’ Record Management System for

Tertiary Institutions. This paper was borne out due to the problems associated with student

academic record management which include improper course registration, late release of

students’ result, reconciliation of students’ result, malpractices at various students clearing units,

inaccuracy due to manual and tedious calculation and record retrieval difficulties in the

institution. The objective of this paper is to develop a portal that would incorporate online

registration, profile creation, students’ final clearance and payment, transcript processing,

checking of admission status, verification of both O’level /A’level and degree certificates and

checking of results, thus it is expected to reduce paperwork and automate the record generation

process in the tertiary institution. design for web based students’ record management system for

tertiary institutions. The design is deliberately focused on flexibility and accurate delivery of

information to various users such as students, lecturers, parents, institution management and

organizations. It is a role-based system as various users are approved to carry out different roles.

For example, students can create profile, register authorized courses for a particular semester

based on fulfillment of certain conditions like payment of necessary fees and possession of

prerequisite conditions, verify admission status, verify matriculation number, do research in

various computer areas using the e-library tools(Journals and articles),perform final clearance.

Graduates on the other hand can apply for a transcript, organizations/institutions can verify their
potential employees/graduate students transcript. Administrators can grant access to students to

process their transcripts when the

schooling. Considering the reason for the ease of recap of student attendance and to facilitate the

parent in monitoring the presence of their child in school hence required a student attendance

information system. Student absenteeism information systems areweb-based so they can also be

accessed by parents without having to go to school and parents can monitor their child's presence

every day through telecommunication devices such as mobile phones connected to the internet.

The research method used in this research is SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method

which is a very good design methodology because it identifies well the needs of the user. The

results of the study are expected to answer the needs of the school and will be easy to recap

attendance of students and also the needs of the parents to monitor the presenceof their children

in the learning process.

According to Ekta, Heeral, Shubham, and Sompurna (2017) system attendance is maintained

using the attendance register for students. Teachers take attendance of students manually, due to

which it increases paperwork, maintaining records and calculating attendance of each student

become tedious intention of developing Attendance Management System is to computerize the

traditional way of taking attendance Management System is a platform for daily student

attendance in schools, colleges and institutes. It facilitates access to the attendance information

of a particular student in a particular class. It also avoids proxy attendance. Data accuracy is

maintained, within a short span of time the attendance is maintained in registers it is very
cumbersome to manage, track and update the data. Having backup is also very difficult in this

method. This system will also help in evaluating attendance eligibility criteria of a student. The

proposed system requires very less paper work. All the data is feted into the computer

immediately and reports can be generated through computers. Moreover work becomes very

easy because there is no need to keep data on papers.

According to Eid Al (2019) the implementation of the pilot project for customized, automated,

highly secured class room management system known as fully automated classroom attendance

system. In this research paper, the strategies, design, development and implementation of a pilot

project for class room attendance management systems is explainedin detail. As a pilot project, a

mobile app is built on an Android platform using Xamarin programming. Prototype of the

proposed system provides a high level of authentication by embed-ding face recognition and

biometric verification together with a radio frequency identification system (RFID) system.

Though given model features are specially designed for our college needs, this modelcan be

modified for general us-age and can be applied for all academic levels i. school, college,

universities. Among the other features of system, one important feature is selection of sys-tem to

work in smart mode in which system closes after predefined time

LOCAL STUDIES

According to Jun Brian P. Tubongbanua, Kwency Maye V Dahilan , Kayepril Georgette A Sagun

and Jherex L Ruiz at  Cagayan de Oro Academy for International Education, An online

information and monitoring system is complex and flexible and is designed to meet distinct

needs. In developing the proposed system, the researchers used the Prototyping Life Cycle

Model These applications improved the traditional transaction processing systems. Staff finds it

tedious in searching and preparing reports on students’ information and also laborious due to

repetition of processes done in filling and updating of records. The proposed system caters

posting and viewing of grades, class schedules, students, guardians and staff profiling and other

important data needed in the system. The Web-based Information and Monitoring System is an

expansion of a basic information system achieved through system design of an improved or

broader capability by functionally or technically relating two or more information systems. With

this, the academy will be able to provide quality service to its students. This thesis study offers

important implication for monitoring and information of the school and lessen the workload of

school management and save time.

According to Maramis and Rompas (2018) article on the RFID-based Employee Attendance

Management System, manually recording all employees' attendance has resulted in issues such

as data accuracy and staff performance efficiency. The purpose of this study is to design and

construct a program for an RFID attendance system that is integrated with a database system.

This RFID attendance system was created with several major components, including tags that
will replace ID cards and a reader device that will read information on employee attendance.

This project produced software for an RFID attendance system that is integrated with a database

and has the ability to save the data or information of each individual employee.

(SBM) is a strategy that aims to improve education by transferring decision-making authority

from state and district offices to individual schools. The SDO Olongapo City conducts an annual

School-Based Management Validation to determine the level of practice among schools. The

validation team considers tangible evidence, digital or online proofs, and other means to

determine how far schools have improved and sustained their existing level of practice.

Validation of the SBM level of practice is based on four principles: Leadership and Governance,

Curriculum and Learning, Accountability and Continuous Improvement, and Management of

Resources. The objectives of SBM are to empower school heads to lead their teachers and

students through reforms that lead to higher learning outcomes, bring resources down to the

control of schools for change, strengthen partnerships with communities, and integrate school

management and instructional reformation for school effectiveness.
