Personal Statement
I am a mechanical engineer with 5+ years of experience and an MEng in Mechanical Engineering (iMechE
accredited). I have a range of experience that includes maintaining heating systems and designing/installing
pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. I am looking for a full position closer to home, following a relocation.

Work history
Mobile Mechanical Engineer August 2016 - date
Delta Force Engineers Limited, Derby

I work with hydraulic systems for heating, pumping systems and invertor driven pumps, pipework systems
including balancing, commissioning, flow control and general valves, pressure vessels and pressurisation units,
and HIU systems and distribution. My role includes:

 Pressure testing.
 Primary, secondary and tertiary fault finding of issues, providing accurate reports and making appropriate
recommendations.
 Reporting and recommending on heat loss methods.
 Undertaking system drain downs and refills (whole building).
 Changing pumps, valves, valve components (directional and modulating), and plates exchangers including
servicing and inspection.
 Working within energy centres, large centralised plant rooms and building distribution systems.

I travel frequently to clients all across England and Wales, and occasionally further afield.

DYZ Limited, Derby

This role involved supporting the client Project Team with design, procurement, installation and qualification
of mechanical equipment within the company’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. It included:

 All aspects of equipment design, from concept through to commissioning/qualification.


 Ensuring all activities complied with site safety procedures and with safe systems of work.
 Ensuring that the work output complied with the relevant procedures.
 Providing technical assistance to client engineering teams and other disciplines where required.
 Striving to complete all assigned work within the agreed budget and to the agreed schedule.
 Keeping up-to-date with technical developments, national and international standards and legislative
requirements.
 Conducting and contributing to risk assessments and method statements.
 Holding discussions with Clients and visiting job sites where necessary.

I travelled frequently, both nationally and internationally to the Company’s various offices in Europe.

I was made redundant from this post.


Qualifications
MEng in Mechanical Engineering (Distinction)
University of Cambridge

A Levels
Maths (A*), Further Mathematics (A*), Physics (A), Chemistry (A)
NUAST, Nottingham

GCSEs
9 GCSEs grade C and above including Maths (A) Physics (A) Chemistry (A) Biology (B) English (B)

Skills
 Very strong oral communication skills – highly capable of dealing with clients, contractors, designers,
directors and plant operators
 Excellent and very precise written communication skills
 Proven ability to work well both within a team and independently
 Strong IT skills, including exceptional computer-aided design
 Highly creative, with a portfolio of past projects to show
 Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure, to a schedule and budget

Hobbies and interests


I enjoy indoor climbing, long distance running and going to the gym. I also build robots in my spare time.
