Lipids 1
Lipids 1
i. Objectives:
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates an understanding of the structure of
biomolecules which are made up mostly of a limited number of elements
such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen
B. Performance Standards
C. Learning Competencies The learner should be able to recognize the major categories of
biomolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic
acid
Specific objectives:
1. Perform an activity to test the presence of lipids in foods.

Objective:
Procedure:

3. if residue feels oily, leaves a greasy or translucent mark or shiny appearance on the paper.
4. Write your observation in Table
Food Sample Test for lipids
(put a check)

honey
Guide question:
1. What food samples tested would your body use for a quick burst of energy?
2. What kind of foods rich in fats should be taken in moderation? Why?
