Release Notice
This is the January 2012 release (Revision A) of the GPS
Pathfinder Pro series receivers Release Notes. It applies to
version 2.04 of the GPS firmware.
Introduction
These release notes provide information about the GPS firmware
version 2.04 for the Trimble® GPS Pathfinder® Pro series receivers.
Please read these release notes carefully.
The GPS Pathfinder Pro series includes the ProXH™ and ProXT™
receivers. The GPS Pathfinder Pro series receivers are high-performance
GPS receivers. They have an integrated antenna and receiver, a user-
removable battery, and Bluetooth® wireless technology for connectivity
with field computers.
Trimble recommends that you upgrade all GPS Pathfinder Pro series
receivers that currently have GPS firmware version 2.03 to firmware
version 2.04.
There is no requirement for users with GPS Pathfinder Pro receivers
with firmware version 1.82 to upgrade to 2.04.
If you are not sure what firmware version is currently installed,
upgrading to version 2.04 will not damage your receiver.

GPS firmware version 2.04

This section describes the version 2.04 GPS firmware, and how to
upgrade your GPS Pathfinder ProXH or ProXT receiver.
The GPS firmware version 2.04 resolves an issue that affects the
Bluetooth® wireless technology function on some ProXT and ProXH
receivers shipped since November 2011. This issue is specific to units
with firmware version 2.03; if you turn off the Bluetooth radio, you may
not be able to turn it back on.

Upgrading to the GPS firmware version 2.04

This section describes how to upgrade to the version 2.04 firmware on
your GPS Pathfinder Pro series receiver.

Known Issues
This section provides information about known issues with the
firmware version 2.04 for the GPS Pathfinder ProXH and ProXT
receivers.

Battery
• It is possible to damage the connectors on the ProXH or ProXT
receiver’s battery pack by removing the battery while a cable is
connected to the serial port connector.
Trimble recommends that you detach the cable before removing
the receiver’s battery.

Real-time sources
• Integrated SBAS selected as second real-time choice.
If you have Integrated SBAS configured as the second choice in
the Real-Time Settings form of your Trimble GPS field software
and the SBAS status is Waiting, the GPS receiver may incorrectly
change the status of the preferred real-time correction source to
Waiting as well. To avoid this issue, select Wait for realtime or Use
uncorrected GPS as your second choice.
If you use a ProXH or ProXT receiver to output NMEA data, and
have Use Uncorrected GPS selected in the Real-Time Settings form,
the NMEA output will become corrupted if you connect a real-
time correction source. To avoid corrupted NMEA data, change
your real-time settings to use corrected GPS positions before
connecting the real-time correction source.
If you use a ProXH or ProXT receiver to output NMEA data and
have set the least preferred real-time choice to the Wait for real-
time option, the ProXH or ProXT receiver will output
autonomous NMEA positions when no real-time corrections are
available. You can configure your datalogging application to filter
out these non-DGPS positions.
