3. James has two job offers. Massy offers James the job with an initial annual salary of

James’ expected annual salary if he selects to work at Unicomer in his fifth year
of employment will be $51,600.00

In the fifth year of employment, there isn’t any difference in James’s annual salary
if he chose to work at Massy or Unicomer.

b. Compare and contrast the two offers to determine the company that offers the
most renumeration over five years of employment. Show all necessary

renumeration of $248,000.00.

c. Which company should James take up his employment with if both companies
offer him an annual salary of $60,000.00 in his sixth year? Why? [2 marks]

James should take up employment with Unicomer. 1) Given the high start salary,
he can accomplish more in his earlier work life with unicomer given inflation etc.
2) Over five years, he would be able to amass $22,000.00 more in total
renumeration over that of Massy. … … (𝟏)𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 … … (𝟏)𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒐𝒏

4. It has been projected by UNDP that the population of Wakanda will increase by 0.8%
for each of the next quarters for 5 years. If Wakanda registered a population of 25,000
in the second quarter of 2023:
a. What is the expected population in Wakanda after the third quarter in 2025?

[3 marks]

𝑎1 = 25,000 𝑟 = 1.008 𝑛 = (5 ∗ 4) = 20 … … (𝟏) for the selection of n

The last period as per the rate interval of 5 years ends in the second quarter of
2028. Therefore, the population can only be determined up to this point.

As at the above-mentioned:

𝑎20 = 25000(1.008)20

𝑎20 = 25000(1.008)20

𝑎20 = 29,319.10109 … … (𝟏)
