The learners demonstrate understanding of a Healthy diet in promoting proper
nutrition and overall wellness.

Performance Standard
The learners will make an advertisement on how to promote a Healthy Diet.

I. Objectives
 Identify the different food groups.
 Explain the importance of Food Pyramid.

II. Subject Matter


Fourth Quarter- Living Things and Their Environment
Lesson 4 Components of a Healthy Diet and Healthy Practices for the Digestive
System.

III. Materials
Multimedia presentation, prepared items, jumbled letters, scotch tape, glue,
scissors, pentel pen
Reference: Science Links Book, www.yahoo.com, www.youtube.com

IV. Procedures

A. Review/ Recall
 Picture Analysis
 The learners will analyze the given picture.

B. Motivation
 Word Puzzle
 The class will be divided into groups and they will be provided with prepared items.

C. Learning Activities

1. Activities
 May You Take My Order? (Group Activity)
 With the same group, each will be given a menu-like item(facts about the food group
assigned)
Instructions will be given by the teacher.
2. Analysis
Checking of outputs per group will be done.

3. Abstraction
Powerpoint Presentation on the different food groups will be discussed further.
Multimedia presentation of the different organic molecules and food pyramid.

4. Application
 1 Minute Advertisement
 Each group will make an advertisement in promoting a Diet
 Rubrics will be given to the class.
