A. CONTENT STANDARDS
The learner:
 Demonstrates how theatrical elements (sound, music, gesture, movements and costume) affect
the creation and communication of meaning in Philippine Festivals and theatrical forms as
influenced by history and culture.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
The learner:
 Create appropriate festival attire with accessories based on authentic festival costumes.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES
 Identifies the festivals and theatrical forms celebrated all over the country throughout the year
(A7EL-Iva-1)
 Researches on the history of the festival and theatrical composition and its evolution, and
describe how the townspeople participate and contribute to the event (A7EL-IVb-2)
 Discuss the elements and principles of arts as seen in Philippine Festival (A7EL-IVc-3)
D. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners are should be able to:
a. Narrate the origins, theatrical forms and cultural backgrounds of selected Philippine Religious
Festivals.
(Pahiyas Festival, Obando Fertility Rite, Moriones Festival, Ati-Atihan Festival, Sinulog
Festival, Dinagyang Festival and Santacruzan/Flores de Mayo)
b. Show appreciation to the different Philippines Religious Festival and its theatrical forms
through active participation and watching videos
c. Demonstrate understanding to the Philippine theatrical forms through differentiated activities.
d. Appreciate the different religious festivals in the Philippines
