Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, popularly known as Dr. Ambedkar, was an Indian jurist, economist,
social reformer, and politician who played a significant role in shaping modern India. He was born on
April 14, 1891, in Mhow, present-day Madhya Pradesh, India.

Dr. Ambedkar is known for his efforts in fighting against social discrimination and promoting the
rights of marginalized communities, particularly the Dalits (formerly known as untouchables). He was
a strong advocate for the abolition of the caste system, which he believed was the root cause of social
inequality and oppression in India.

Dr. Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and played a crucial role in drafting
it. He was also the first Law Minister of independent India. His contributions to the drafting of the
Constitution were significant, particularly his efforts to ensure the protection of the rights of Dalits,
women, and other marginalized communities.

Dr. Ambedkar was a prolific writer and scholar. He authored several books on various topics,
including economics, law, and social issues. His most significant works include "Annihilation of
Caste," "The Buddha and his Dhamma," and "The Problem of Rupee."

Dr. Ambedkar passed away on December 6, 1956. He is remembered as one of the most important
figures in Indian history and is widely revered for his contributions to social justice and equality. His
birthday is celebrated as a national holiday in India, known as Ambedkar Jayanti.

human rights. His legacy continues to inspire millions of people around the world who seek to
promote social justice and equality.
