When she puts her mind to it, #### can be a hard-working and enthusiastic student who
shows real promise in French . However, ####’s attitude to learning this year has too often
not been up to the standard expected. It is important that #### remains focussed at all
times to ensure she understands the task set and that she completes all the work to the
best of her ability. Her areas to target and revise / improve are ____________________.

MALE
#### has worked really hard this year and has made good progress. I am especially pleased
with his improvements in tenses; #### they are now working much harder in this area and
this will reap rewards in the end of unit tests. His focus in class is improving, but this must
remain a key area for him next year: start tasks within thirty seconds and remain focused
until the task is completed to the highest possible standard! He also needs to read the
question carefully, try to write six relevant key terms to help structure the longer questions
and use the online revision materials to ensure he makes maximum progress.
Most of the time, #### is a hard-working student who tries to do his best in all activities.
However, sometimes he can lose focus in class and this can lead to misunderstanding and
underachievement. In recent lessons, I have seen an increased lack of focus in both
behaviour for learning and home learning tasks. #### must make efforts to improve in these
areas. To improve his language skills, he needs to plan revision and aim to start immediately
so that stress during assessments can be minimised. Try to avoid the situation where you
walk into a test knowing that you are not well prepared!
#### is a keen, enthusiastic and hard-working student. He has made good progress so far
this year, especially in relation to his problem solving skills. Sometimes, his work on longer
form questions can become muddled and he needs to ensure that he plans his answer first
and takes the time to read it aloud to check that his meaning is clear. #### is also showing
very good understanding of ________________________. Now he must ensure that he
revises _______________________________.
#### is a polite, helpful and enthusiastic student. #### has good understanding of
__________________________. Whilst #### is always keen to answer questions,
sometimes this is to the detriment of his written work and it is important that his
enthusiasm verbally is translated to the page. Planning his answer first will help with this, To
improve, he should revisit and revise the following topics: ________________________.

#### is a keen, enthusiastic and hard-working student. He is always on time to lessons and is
extremely helpful; he normally gives out the books and begins the starter activity promptly.
Spellings, punctuation and grammar are more important than ever in and ####’ must always
ensure that he does not rush his work to maintain a high level of accuracy. He has made
good progress so far this year. To improve further, #### should revisit and revise:
____________________________.
#### has made excellent progress, especially with regards to his developing confidence.
Although he still finds it difficult sometimes to contribute to class discussions, #### has
improved in this area. He enjoys working by himself, but now must practise working with
others to solve problems. This skill will also help develop his literacy and communication
skills. When working, #### is confident in most tasks. However, he must focus not on
finishing first, but on ensuring he avoids silly mistakes that could cost him marks in the end
of unit test.
#### is a pleasant student who engages well in all aspects of class, particularly class
discussion. He works in a systemic and scientific way and is able to tackle a range of
problems. His working out is excellent. To enhance his skills, they need to ensure that they
have learnt the key subject terminology and how to apply it. Furthermore, to improve, he
must ensure that he revises and makes detailed notes on ____________, subject specific
terminology (the key words are in his exercise book / online revision materials) and must
aim to make a revision timetable so that he can ‘chunk’ his revision into manageable, bite-
sized pieces.
#### is an enthusiastic, exuberant and diligent student. I have thoroughly enjoyed his
thoughtful, and at times challenging, contributions to class discussion. He is working well
and has made excellent progress. Homework is completed regularly and to a high standard.
He is a very able linguist who grasps complex topics quickly and extends those topics to
answer more complex questions. ##### needs to use online revision materials and
textbooks to enhance his learning and secure the grade he is capable of. The topics he
needs to improve on are _____________________________.
##### has had a slow to start to the year, but I think he is starting to realise that he needs to
put in a lot more effort in order to achieve the end of year grade he is capable of. His
confidence is slowly growing, though his recent of unit assessment result was a little
disappointing. ##### needs to make sure that he is working hard, and then both his
confidence and results will improve gradually. He must use online revision materials and
textbooks to answer assessment questions. ##### achieved a good score in the end of unit
assessment, and with hard work over the next few months, he has the ability to improve on
that grade significantly in the end of year assessment.
New Joiner
##### has made a lot of progress since joining the group last summer. His grades are slowly
starting to improve and so is his confidence. ##### needs to realise that he is an able linguist
and can achieve a very good grade in the end of year assessments. He now needs to have
confidence in his abilities and give 110%. ##### often needs to be pushed in class to
complete tasks and he needs to find his own motivation to succeed. He should use online
revision materials and textbooks to answer assessment questions. While many module test
scores have been pleasing, some have identified gaps in ##### knowledge. To improve, he
should: start use active revision methods that practise the recall of information, e.g. writing
down key terms from memory, creating mind maps from memory, and creating quizzes and
crosswords to use at a later date.
