Understanding Culture Society and Politics Week 7
In school, an individual learns to be a socially educated person as he/she observes and adapts the
behavior of other people, like singing the National Anthem, showing respect to teachers and
classmates, and paying respect to the flag.
As an individual lives with his family, he/she adapts socially accepted values. At a very young age,
he/she learns the foundation of learning, reading the alphabet or counting numbers.
In a community, an individual may be inspired and learn to practice social duties and obligations
as observed and learned from those who do great contributions for the community.
