EXT. DORIC HOUSE- NIGHT
Doric House is a detached old house on a suburban street dimly
lit by the streetlights. Sinister music plays as blue light
illuminates the sign reading ‘Doric House’. It fades to a
title screen ‘DORIC HOUSE’.
Cut to
EXT. DORIC HOUSE- MORNING
Tracking shot of ELEANOR happily walking along the street. She
slowly stops and stares inquisitively at the house. Cautiously
she slowly takes a step onto the driveway when she hears a
BANG and backs away. She walks further down the street and
takes her phone out her pocket and begins typing.

ELEANOR (TEXT)
Weirdest noise just came out
of Doric House.
Could be a ghost?

MACIE (TEXT)
Stay away from that house
It’s not safe and you are
Getting obsessed.

ELEANOR angrily puts her phone back in her pocket and marches
down the street out of shot.
Cut to

INT. ELEANOR’S ROOM- NIGHT

Eleanor’s computer screen lights up her room as she sits
slouched focused at her desk. She has old newspaper articles
on Doric House scattered around her and pinned up on her wall.
The Screen shows Eleanor endlessly scrolling through different
news articles and
stories about Doric House and incoherently muttering to
herself as she reads. We see the computer screen edited beside
her in shot.
When she reaches the website about an open house Eleanor
quickly sits up excitedly and reads the screen
ELEANOR
Open house..
16th March..

Eleanor clicks on the booking and smugly reads to herself as

she types her application. The screen shows her scrolling

Screen fades to black

INT. ELEANOR’S ROOM- MORNING

Eleanor’s alarm rings and she eagerly gets up to begin getting
ready. Quick cuts from her opening her curtains, to brushing
her teeth, grabbing her bag and then slamming her door shut as
she quickly runs out.
EXT. DORIC HOUSE- MORNING
Eleanor walks up to Doric house along the street and seems
slightly more cautious than excited anymore. As she reaches
the house she steps onto the driveway and looks around for the
estate agent. She turns around confused as there is no one
around and jumps back in shock when suddenly a professional
looking woman is behind her and reaches out to shake her hand.
LAUREN
Nice to meet you I’m
Lauren Myers, I’ll be
Showing you around the

Eleanor shakes her hand
ELEANOR
Oh... um
Hello

Lauren walks towards the house and ushers Eleanor to follow.

Eleanor sheepishly walks behind
Cut to
INT. DORIC HOUSE HALLWAY- MORNING
Eleanor slowly walks into the house and shivers immediately.
She looks around the gloomy surroundings and slowly walks into
the kitchen with LAUREN close behind. She looks over at the
kitchen sink and walks over slowly looking concerned. As he
looks over she see’s blood stains all down the sink. She steps
back in fear and turns around to Lauren.
ELEANOR
Um... Lauren
What.. what is
This?

Lauren walks over with a blank expression.

LAUREN
(Sternly)
I don’t know what
you’re talking about

Eleanor turns back round confused to see the sink completely

clean. She shakes her head in confusion and stutters. Lauren
walks away into the living room, Eleanor follows shortly
behind her looking back at the sink with a confused
expression.
INT. LIVING ROOM-
MORNING
Eleanor walks into the room and looks around curiously. Lauren
stands in the corner looking suspicious. Eleanor walks over to
the corner and picks up a photo frame and looks around as she
remembers her research
FLASHBACK:
INT. ELEANOR’S ROOM- NIGHT
Eleanor is very concentrated engrossed in her research as
looks through her computer. One article grabs her attention
about a man going insane in Doric House, she clicks and zooms
into the picture.
END OF FLASHBACK
Eleanor realises she has seen this man before in her research.
Suddenly her attention is drawn to the study as she hears a
loud BANG. She looks over to Lauren.
ELEANOR
Did you hear that?
LAUREN
(confused)
Hear what?
(Pauses)
Do you want to
see the study?
ElEANOR
(nods)
Eleanor follows Lauren out of the room. Eleanor is clearly
much less confident then when she initially arrived and has a
cautious demeanour.
INT. STUDY- MORNING
Lauren opens the CREAKING door into the study and ushers
Eleanor inside. Eleanor slowly walks inside the small, dusty
room with only a desk and bookshelf. As she goes to look out
the window a book suddenly flies off the shelf causing her to
jump in fear. Eleanor
quickly walks out as Lauren seems distracted looking out the
window.
INT. HALLWAY- MORNING
Eleanor walks alone to a small cupboard at the bottom of the
stairs as she gets closer she hears what sounds like
SCRATCHING and KNOCKING against the cupboard, she cautiously
walks closer and hears childlike whispers asking for help.
Concerned, she leans down to try open the cupboard door. As
she is about to open it, Lauren interrupts.
LAUREN
Shall we look at
the upstairs now?
Eleanor walks away from the cupboard clearly scared and nods
to Lauren as she is still intrigued by the house despite her
fear. She walks behind Lauren up the stairs repeatedly looking
behind and around her as though she is being watched.
INT. LANDING- MORNING
LAUREN
Feel free to have
a look around the
rooms

Eleanor lets herself into what seems like a child’s bedroom.

INT. BEDROOM- MORNING
Eleanor enters the bedroom. It has children’s teddies and
books surrounding the bed and a notebook on the bedside table.
The curtains are drawn and there is an eerie atmosphere.
Eleanor walks around the room and sits on the edge of the bed
as she picks up the notebook. The notebook is old with
spillages and faded writing on it. On the front it reads ‘
John Mye j R nal’ as the childlike writing has faded away. She
carefully opens the book and reads the first page aloud to
herself.
ELEANOR
Something is not right
about this house
we only moved in a week ago and it feels
like someone is always watching me, I don’t
feel safe here
Eleanor looks up as she remembers what she read in her
research
FLASHBACK:
INT. ELEANOR’S ROOM- NIGHT
Eleanor is laid on her bed scrolling through her phone. She
see’s an article about a young boy who lived in DORIC HOUSE.
It reads ‘At only 12 years old new resident, John, and his
sister, of Doric House are found dead’.
END OF FLASHBACK
Eleanor gasps as she realises this must be the boys notebook.
Before she can read any further she is interrupted.
LAUREN
ELEANOR!
Eleanor quickly places the book where it was and walks out of
the room onto the landing.

INT. LANDING- MORNING

Eleanor looks around to see where Lauren has called her from.
She looks over at the mirror on the other side of the landing
where she see’s a dark figure standing directly behind her.
She jumps terrified and turns around to see nothing behind
her. Before she can process what has happened she hears Lauren
from the other rooms upstairs.
LAUREN
(sharply)
ELEANOR I’M UP HERE
Eleanor walks towards Lauren’s voice carefully past the mirror
and up the second flight of stairs. She see’s Lauren faced the
other way at the top of the stairs.
 ELEANOR
Lauren?
Um..
Lauren?

Lauren turns around to face Eleanor looking confused.

LAUREN
Yes?

ELEANOR
You called me?

LAUREN
Um.. no I didn’t

Eleanor stutters confused as Lauren interrupts

LAUREN
(points to the room next to her)
You should take a look at
the master bedroom

INT. MASTER BEDROOM- MORNING

Eleanor looks towards the room and slowly walks in. She looks
around to see the dark, gloomy room full of many scattered
items like old mirrors, door frames and childhood items. As
Eleanor looks back round to the door it suddenly slams shut.
She runs over and tries to open it but she can’t. She
frantically tugs at the door handle but it won’t budge. The
lights begin to flicker in the room and turn to red. She hears
SCREAMS from all
around her and excruciatingly loud banging and knocking all
around. Petrified she desperately tugs at the door.
ELEANOR
HELP
PLEASE
HELP ME!
With no answer from her cries for help Eleanor continues to
scream until suddenly out of no where Lauren opens the door as
if nothing has happened.
LAUREN
(nonchalantly)
Are you okay?
ready to see the rest
of the house?

ELEANOR
(out of breath, crying)
Wha.. what
Did u not?
(breathing heavily)

Eleanor still terrified sprints down the stairs and out of the
house

EXT. OUTSIDE DORIC HOUSE

Eleanor stands outside looking distressed and crouches to try
and catch her breath. She is interrupted by a professional
looking man who greets her formally.

MICHAEL BAILEY
Um.. hello I’m
 Michael
Bailey, sorry
I’m late I’m
the estate agent
I’ll show you around
Doric House

Eleanor catches her breath and looks round very confused for
Lauren.

ELEANOR
What?
what about
Lauren
I...
I Was just shown around
By.. by Lauren Myers
Michael scoffs
MICHAEL
(condescending)
Well I highly doubt that
The house has been locked
For over a decade now no
One has been in in years
Eleanor stutters still in shock from what she has just
experienced. She looks around in confusion and fear before she
scurries off of the driveway
ELEANOR
Sorry.. I have to go
Jonathon looks at
Eleanor with a confused expression as she runs off.

EXT. STREET- AFTERNOON

Sinister music plays as Eleanor runs along the street to get
away from Doric House. She eventually stops and catches her
breath when she reaches the end of the street. She suddenly
perks up as she starts piecing together her research and what
she has just experienced as she realises it is all connected.
FLASHBACK:
INT. ELEANOR’S ROOM- NIGHT
Eleanor is sat at her desk deeply focused on her research when
she finds more information on the young boy who died in Doric
House. She reads aloud to herself.
ELEANOR
John Myers found mysteriously
dead in bedroom of Doric
house
END OF FLASHBACK.
CUT TO
FLASHBACK:
INT. DORIC HOUSE BEDROOM- MORNING
Eleanor walks around the room and sits on the edge of the bed
as she picks up the notebook. The notebook is old with

FLASHBACK
INT. ELEANOR’S ROOM- NIGHT
Eleanor stares at her computer screen as she delves further
and further into her research. She leans closer into the
screen as she looks at
pictures of the family who died in Doric House she zooms in to
see a girl named Lauren Myers.
END OF FLASHBACK.

FLASHBACK
EXT. DORIC HOUSE- MORNING
Eleanor jumps back in shock when suddenly a professional
looking woman is behind her and reaches out to shake her hand.
LAUREN
Nice to meet you I’m

House
END OF FLASHBACK.

EXT. STREET- AFTERNOON

Eleanor looks around in shock as she realises she met Lauren
Myers who supposedly died in Doric House. She stands still in
confusion with a tearful expression as she wonders if Lauren
was a ghost or if she was real at all.
Eleanor looks back at Doric House

EXT. OUTSIDE DORIC HOUSE
The Doric House sign fades to black as the music fades and
credits roll.

The space is very large therefore I can film from a range of angles. The space is used to film shots
where my main character discovers a photo frame so the large bookshelf unit will work well for
this.

A lot of natural light is let through the large As I want it to be dark and gloomy, I will shut all
windows either side of the room. the curtains and decide which light sources to
use as there is several different switches for the

The room is further to the back of the house I have a camera mounted mic to use if needed
therefore there is no noise from the road. and can reshoot if needed.

There are several power outlets in the room I I have battery operated equipment like lighting

This location is suitable for my shot as it has the bookshelf I need to use for the shot and is a big
enough room to fit both actors in.

it would make the scene look aesthetically bad
